WEEK 14 • THURSDAY NIGHT - New England Patriots AT Los Angeles Rams

White I agree with. The rest are just bodies playing ancillary characters in this charade of an NFL offense.

How is so different from last year? We have had a receiver issue for awhile. Byrd can get open and he was not even here last year. I have seen him get open, he has a lot of speed and that stop route he had was great, its just not consistent enough of getting him the ball, its just a style of offense we have to play and they are scared to pass. I would have liked to have had Byrd last year actually.

I didnt either, he basically ran an offense he does run much. Rams came out and did what Bill did not want them to do.
What I liked is he minimized Goff. He made sure they ran then they play actioned off of that. The third down hurry up was awesome. They kept us off-balance all night. I pretty much expected our offense to struggle but we had chances just did not convert in the red zone. Cam's pick six pretty much sealed the loss. 14 point swing there.

It isn't different. Our big move was bringing in Arizona's 4th best WR. There is no surprise that our passing game is a disaster.

The disaster is the QB. The skill guys are not good but honestly I have not see this bad of QB'ing in a long time. Why Bill left Cam in there in the second half after the pick six where he was not throwing to any receiver is beyond frustrating.

I'm with you man, but this is not a team that has always went after a lot of receivers, it just has never been that. It might have to be that now though. We have won without big stars at receiver, but you have to have something that makes up for that. Right now we dont.

We've drafted plenty of WRs. 90% have been a swing and a miss.

A bad loss and a good win for the Rams. If we had won, ur playoff chances would have been 28%. Now they're down to 6%. Hell of a swing so it was a critical game.

Poor QB play and overall offensive play, O Line not great but when you're up against a monster like Donald, no O Line is going to stay unbreached. Defense not great either.

The outcome shouldn't surprise anyone.

Well it should really. The team had put together some battling wins, the defense looked like it was improving and the power run game was developing. The team was just straight out poor last night and the Rams were good and did what they needed. The Rams will be a tough team to handle in the playoffs.

You don't mind losing, but not when our play just sucked.

Smoke and mirrors doesn’t work against the big boys in the league.

The last few weeks were fun but shouldn’t fool anyone about what this team is.
I was really cheering for Cam, but my expectations were very very low for him. Still. It’s probably time to evaluate Stidham. Give him an actual start and see what’s there. Cam probably should not be a starter in the NFL anymore.
Can they just take Harry off the off the field? We’ve seen enough, and this was a better game for him.
Harris was averaging bout 5 a carry against a tough line. I’d like to see him get more in the red zone, and obviously the back injury is concerning. Hopefully he’s alright.
That’s one reason I’d like to see stidham. I’d like to see how the red zone plays change without the obvious Cam run plays. Regardless of evaluating stidhams play, I want to see if he can hold up health wise over the last three games.
I like Cam, but we all can see what he is. He’s not getting better. That pick wasn’t his fault though.

That pick was his longest completion of the year. Too bad it was to the other team.

It was 100% on him. Harris was not open. He was tied up at the line. You throw that at his feet or just take the sack and we get the FG and it is a 10-3 ball game. That 10 point swing iced the game. That is what is called game managing. I realize for some strange reason that term "game manager" is a negative for QB play but we had the best game manager that ever lived which is why we so many games. Those decisions or lack thereof cost you games.

Is there any remote chance that you not bring Brady into every discussion?

When it makes sense for context, I will absolutely bring him up. I am sorry if that offends you.

FYI - First time I mentioned him in this thread or any thread since the creation of the "Brady Mojo" thread.

But this has nothing to do with Brady. He wasn't playing last night and judging by his comments, he has no desire to ever set foot in NE again!

Tom is gone, let's look at our team now, as is, as bad as it is.

That is exactly what I was doing with my post. I was talking about the pick six which was the turning point of the game and how Cam has to game manage that situation better which is what we were used to for 20 years with Brady. Hence the comparison. It is all those decisions that seem little and appear as a sack or throw away on the stat sheet that keep you from losing games. That was my overall point. It is not just Cam's bad passing, mechanics, it is also his in game decision making.

The outcome shouldn't surprise anyone.

It surprised me bc the Rams DL absolutely dominated our OL which is supposed to be a top 5 unit.
It surprised me bc when the Rams opened the game by switching from outside zone runs, their bread and butter, to inside counters it took our DC a full half to adjust to it.
We lost that game in the trenches. They controlled the line of scrimmage from every pov.
Their energy was at 100% while ours was maybe 70%.
It's not very often BB is outcoached but he was last night.
Sweet revenge I guess for McVay but the SB win meant far more.
