You are crazy. He got held and thrown out of bounds off the snap and then wasn’t allowed back in, pushed back a 2nd time.I don't disagree with your larger point that Goodell sucks, but unless there is some alternate explanation that has been uncovered today, that one
was a completely legit penalty on Slater. For one thing, he never exactly got hammered when he first went OOB, but attempted to use the shove to
his advantage, because he thought he was free (or something). He never really fought to get back IB-- at least to my eyes and that's what he's supposed to do.
I couldn't figure out why he was griping, although it appeared he was blaming the 2nd defender for keeping him OOB, which was a specious argument
on Matt's part. I think there was a gap between the blockers, but he ignored it and kept running. No ref really wants to throw a flag
on him, because his rep is squeaky clean, but I don't think he left them with a choice.
If anybody is aware of a different explanation then please hook me up. That's just how I saw the play.
Couldn’t be any clearer. The guy has been in the league for 13 years and I don’t think has ever been called for it.
And, honestly, seeing such chintzy calls vs the Pats as Judon is armbarred all night is an insult to my intelligence as a fan.
