If they go on to lose this game. They would have been better off getting swept. At least then. They probably would have made some significant changes. Forcing a game 7. Might make them hesitate.

Jaylen brown sucks so bad. The bigger the game is. the worse he plays. His basketball IQ is minus ten. I'm tired of watching him play.

They need a different coach. Mazzulla will probably improve with time, but Miami was able to frustrate them with defenses that they should have answers for. I'd worry that if you break this team up, they'll slip into many years of irrelevance again. They have talent, but their offense is painfully disjointed when the 3's aren't falling. In their late 70's, if Pat Riley or Phil Jackson had this team for a year (I know that's not an option), I think they would be significantly better and when they're taking the NBA finals to game 6 or the ECF to game 7, there isn't that much further to go.

Sure, it concerns me too, but nothing is worse than high expectation and constant losing once you get there. What they do, I really don't know. Their DNA is flawed and that might be on the players themselves. A coach usually cannot change that. I mean, how can a zone confuse a professional team. That stuns me.

I think coaching can make a big difference, especially in the postseason. You could see the change from when Doug Collins coached the Bulls and it was just the Michael Jordan show and then Phil Jackson came in and had them running the triangle offense and playing as a team. The Celtics need major reworking with the X's and O's on offense, but they have a talented young core.

They had a good coach last year. And the result was the same. They have been playing the same way the last six years. They need to change the roster. And add players that compliment each other. They need to build a team. Not a collection of talent. A new coach would help. But that's not getting this team over the hump. Brown and Tatum don't fit together.

Saw a tweet that summed it up.... (paraphrasing as I can't find it now) "Celtics hand Jalen Brown a pen to sign his new 30m a year contract, but he drops it, then trips on it" (sorta like that)

There is going to be a nauseating amount of Celtics trade talk this off-season and I don't think this is as simple as some people think. For one, in the salary capped NBA, you can't just swap players for picks, you need to also swap money. So you can trade for a veteran who may have upside, or perhaps someone who can still play but is on the downside (not specifically him but a James Harden-type). But keep in mind, you're going to hear people say things like "blow it up" or "get rid of that guy," but I am hear to tell everyone, start thinking differently because Wyc still has a very, very good core nucleus and is not going to do either of those things without putting the Boston Celtics at least in a similar position that they've been in the past few years.
Tough spot for the Celtics because you can't give Brown a supermax contract. One trade that I could see is something like Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart to Portland for Damian Lillard and whatever Portland needs to dump to make the money match. You'd probably have to sign and trade Brown and you'll get no picks in return. The other factor is that Lillard will be 33 next season. So you're trading players who will be 27 and 30, respectively for a 33 year-old.
I haven't even run that trade through the probability machine but it's the first trade that came to mind where both teams could immediately benefit from (or at least not regress). But brace yourself for a lot of crap being thrown against the wall.

I had a feeling it was going to be a "lopsided" game, just didn't know which way, but as soon as the C's were tossing up bricks for 3 point attempts in the 1st qtr, I had that bad feeling (some of those were so bad it would be funny if it was some other team doing it).
I forget who finally hit a 3 (Horford?) but that early bad shooting and Tatum's ankle and it was an ugly night
lets not forget Jalen Brown losing the ball early and often. That game probably cost him a lot of $$. had he had a big game and not all those turnovers, C's (or someone) would pay him the $$. I can't see him getting supermax money based on his playoff performance.
