Looking at the Patriots 2023

Despite major injuries, the 2023 Patriots finished 5th in scoring defense and 9th in DVOA even though opposing offenses had better field position against them than any other D.
But third-fewest turnovers generated, and no defensive TDs left the Patriots with a -10 turnover number. Wasn't too long ago the Patriots D created +28 turnovers.

I honestly can't believe they finished as well as they did. Imagine if the offense could have stayed on the field even 50% as often as they did? Hell, 25%!

The D could have quit and they never did. Tip of the cap.

Imagine if the offense just turned the ball over 50 percent less?

and they had a reliable placekicker?

That's why all the local media saying the Pats are so far away and are a bad organization are just flat out retarded. They are so much closer than most people see and thats part of it. Half the turnovers and more key kicks made and this is a playoff team. Period. And not just a wildcard weekend team. A divisional team.

Most versatile defensive players in the NFL measured using their pre-snap alignments and usage in pass game (blitz rate vs coverage defender).

Safeties - Dugger and Peppers - no surprise there
LB - Jahlani Tavai and Mack Wilson - huge surprises
CB - Myles Bryant - HUGE surprise even though he played much better this year
Versatility was always important to BB.
