Bill and Kraft part ways

I really have no issue with him going to Atlanta. It seems a good fit, he is on very good terms with Blank and that city could do with some NFL success. I'll certainly be rooting for him there if that's where he ends up.

What’s the point of going from Bill to Mayo?

There is NONE. Plus, Mayo hasn't even been a coordinator. I like him as D coordinator a lot under a new regime. Washington is already down to its final 2 for GM. The Patriots better not just think they can man it up from inside. That rarely works for a team that has been together for 5 years, never mind 25.

So Bill is going to be coaching elsewhere based upon Kraftie's comments. Thats going to make it even worse. Krafts comment came across as weak and the shit storm is just starting.

yea not sure if thats just chalked up to old age or what, but it was a bit of an awkward statement by kraft on the podium.. seemed almost off the cuff

glad they're on good terms and its amicable...

once BB retires, maybe he'll come come visit training camp, etc

"Termination of contract by Mutual Agreement" is probably the most applicable phrase, I'm sure there will be caveats in the termination agreement such as a restriction on teams he can coach
Why? If the Pats don't want him, let him go where he wants. Unless they think he'll be a better coach that his replacement, why do they care?

I don't think anyone has a problem with BB "the coach" He's the GOAT "coach". GM not so much, and I'm sure BB didn't want to relinquish that power, hence the "amicable split"
just my 2 cents.

lets see if he ends up somewhere and is only the coach, or has a "director of player personnel" if not an outright GM.

Is Atlanta really that attractive with their roster? The offense isn't great there either. If he could improve them there will be some easy wins in that division but Atlanta has the AFCW and the NFCE to play next season.
I think Atlanta would be a horrific choice for him.

Moving forward will be 10 steps back. Thats the problem, especially if it's Mayo. Vrabel might be better but thats a question mark.
No it won't. GM was our biggest issue. I see several steps forward depending on who Kraft hires.

It's a 4 win team in a state of disarray It's true that things could get worse, but that's what was already happening. That's why Belichick is gone in the first place. So all of the "OMG! Disaster!" stuff is just people venting. The weeping and gnashing of teeth over this will fade if the new regime wins. It'll remain, but be muted if the new regime gets off to a middling sort of start. It'll ramp up if the new regime has bad optics after coming together, or is losing badly out of the gate.

The Patriots are now just like every other team again.

Yeah. I mean the bar is so low right now with a 4 win season and no QB. I can only see it going up honestly. These last 2 years were a disaster.

They really aren't, thats the issue. Look up the defensive ranking of the Pats, and then compare that to every other top 5 draft picking team in recent memory at least. They are a massive outlier compared to those teams that are usually at the bottom of the league in defensive and offensive ratings. The Pats aren't.

Thats the real danger here. Adding Judon and Gonzo, an offseason for Keion White...this D could be very, very special with BB at the helm. Unless Jimmy Johnson is walking through that door this team is going backwards worse than they are now. Or even worse, a treadmill team for a decade.

scenes you'd like to see:

On June 12, 2024 during the Patriots' Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for Tom Brady, during his acceptance speech Tom turns to RKK and states:

"Bob, firing BB was the worse fuc.king mistake you made since going back a second time to The Orchids for a rub 'n tug the day of our 2019 Playoff game in KC that led to our Patriots winning our last Super Bowl victory a few weeks later. The LAST Super Bowl this franchise will ever win.

And you once called BB a 'schmuck' --- well who's the schmuck now.":biggrin:
Babooshka the cuck schmuck
