Bill and Kraft part ways

Kraft said they considered keeping him only as HC and decided it wouldn't work.

There were a lot of posters here saying that would be their preference and promoting this as the solution. I knew it wouldn't work. Not with Bill.

At the end of the day, Bill couldn't deliver what Kraft wanted, wins, playoff wins. Bill's performance is what did him in, which is telling. Many doubted Kraft had the balls to fire Bill. He did just that.

The schmuck sure did…

Kraft alluded that Bill surrounded himself with Yes men. Wow, he didn't hold back.

Kraft just stuck it to Bill. Said Everything will all on him from the Draft to money and all. We shall see RKK

He sure did. If the noon presser was to announce and celebrate Bill this Q&A with Bob Kraft was his opportunity to passive aggressively screw Bill to the wall of blame.
If you didn't hear it live you'll know what I mean when you see it replayed over the next few days.

see what? see if things will be different. If kraft or whoever can do better. You think its all fixed now?
It will be different but there's still a lot to fix.

The point about the defense and its opponents has been made by many people, and made many times, and this is not the first year we've seen this pattern in recent Patriots times. You are welcome to scapegoat Mac, even though Mac was not the reason Dallas hung 38 on the Patriots, or that Tua's never lost to the Patriots, etc... You are welcome to insist that the data is just coincidental. History tells us that such is not likely the case. But anything is possible, and we'll never actually know one way or the other. I think the defense was at least pretty good, but not great. You seem to think it was great.

We just have a fundamental disagreement. But I would absolutely agree with the assertion that BB's coaching makes his defenses better than the mere sum of its players, and that making up for that absence absolutely needs to be a top priority for the team moving forward.

Wut? Since when is defense the only part of the team? The offense and STs were the worst in the league this year. The defense is loaded with talent because Bill invested in that side of the ball. The new HC and DC will have the easiest job on the team IMO. Where we will see the biggest difference will be on the offense where hopefully the GM adds talent and finds a decent QB.

the gross part is we had 7 specialists (special teams only) players this year, more than any other team by far... and we had one of the worst special teams units

If the new GM/HC aren't as obsessed with special teams as BB, i'll be ok with that.. always felt we overdid it a bit with the specialists, considering they've been changing the rules to eliminate kickoffs

I understand the decision slightly more after RK’s presser. Asking BB to concede on personnel decisions as I and others had hoped, was really unrealistic.
Offensive grocery shopping did BB in. It has sucked for years now. An average NFL offense has us preparing for a playoff game this week not contemplating a very muddy offseason/future.

Yea, this decision was made a while ago, probably as early as the week team was eliminated from the playoffs. They never considered just keeping him as HC. This was 100% about Bill's record the last three seasons. They only spent a few days to negotiate the break-up. It was never in question.

I do think the loss of of assistants in the past couple years to retirements actually hurt him and he didn't know how to replace them. That will make his next stop interesting because the same will be true there.
Actually, he think he and EB could make sparks fly here

Congrats to Bob Kraft. You ran the best coach and player in the history of the league out of town, because of the media.
Good to know that all it takes is for a disgruntled player to kiss your ass a little bit to make you meddle in football decisions.

For the record, Kraft has now run Parcells, Carroll and Belichick out of town - the three best coaches in the history of the franchise - because of media, disgruntled players, meddling in football operations, and an unwillingness to spend real money on players.

And no one's going to hold him accountable for any of it.

I was looking forward to your take on today

I'm initially more concerned with who will be shopping for the groceries than who will be calling the X's and O's,

I'm certain it will be two different people but all signs point to having a new HC in place before a GM. If I am a would-be GM prospect, not sure that would sit well with me.

they might just promote someone like Groh

so know that they have 100mil in money and the #3 pick they fucking better make this team better. Guess what bill never had, 100mil and the #3 pick!

well he had 100 million in 2020 or so, and he whiffed pretty badly on quite a few players with that money

but yea he hasn't had a pick this high since he drafted Richard Seymour or Ty Warren

Babooshka the cuck schmuck

These guys aren't necessarily going to stay, they might follow Belichick. Especially if it's Atlanta, that's Dimitroff, right?

but staying on Pats could get him promotion to GM, whereas if he follows BB he'll still likely be director of player personnel

its definitely going to be interesting to see how BB structures his coaching staff (and front office if someone gives him HC/GM powers)
