Bruins Penguins Thursday- Vengence/Revenge?

I know we have a hockey thread but I wanted a bigger discussion on this. We all know what happened to Savard last time these two teams met and the Bruins did nothing, and niether did the league. If this team has any heart at all it will do something to even the score Thursday.

So I ask, what, if anything will the Bruins do, and what should they do?


I think Chara should step up as captain and whup Cooke's ass and introduce his face to the ice.

If they have the balls to play him.. I want to see blood... like Stan Johnathan era blood...
 
Revenge is best served cold, so I'd like to see the Bruins do what they should have done that night.

I liked the way they looked against the Flyers. I wouldn't mind seeing THAT Bruins team show up.

Stuart had 2 fights that night. With Lucic still having a broken face, it falls to him or Thornton. Drop the gloves early, and lets see what happens.

Eye for an eye and Cooke is a two bit chump.
Savard is the Bruins best player, has to be equal justice.

it says here, no actual REAL vengeance will be meted out since Cooke will not play and nobody touches Crosby because -- in a fight -- he'll try and push your sh!t in w/ his fist :thailor:
 
The problem is that an NHL player was recently sued for on ice violence. That could chill any response.

You referring to steve moore & bertuzzi? If you havent seen it, you should. I think that was top 3 of the dirtiest things in hockey I have ever seen
 
There better be lots of "puttin on the foil" before this one.

Everybody better get a piece. Anything short of a bench clearer and I'm done with the NHL.

The new rules don't take effect until NEXT YEAR. The league has spoken.

Yup. Regardless of how bad it was, the very threat of litigation will chill the response by the Bs. Whatever they do, it wont be an obvious headhunter thing. No player will risk the lawsuit. That's my prediciton, at least.

They shouldn't cheap shot anyone.. no sticks to the back of the head.. just hit hard, hit hard, hit hard, frustrate until the fight.. then hit hard, hit hard, make them bleed.... nothing dirty, just good clean upper cuts and left hooks.. until there's penguin blood on the ice..

nothing happens .....NHL sent a message to both teams telling them so

Bruins will look like a bunch a wusses after the game but the league will screw any bruin doing anything
 
I thought MD's answer in the hockey thread is appropriate- have a Hanson Brothers style brawl before the opening faceoff. Or maybe try and lure Ogy Ogelthorpe to come out of retirement for one game.

Neither do Cooke's actions. My feelings on this are, whatever happens to Cooke is fine by me. So if he gets Bertuzzi'd: :shrug: I will however feel Boston crosses a retaliatory line if someone Bertuzzis Crosby or Malkin or anyone not named Cooke. If they simply line up one of the two and level them and take them out as a result: :shrug:
 
Well regardless Cooke needs to step up if challenged. and for those that think he should fight Chara? come on now really dude is like 7ft tall lol
 
The NHL might have been foolish not to discipline Cooke immediately after the game, and the Bruins might have been wussy for not retaliating on the ice that night, but I'm sure the NHL is just sitting back, waiting for a retaliatory event when the two teams get together. I wouldn't be surprised if both owners have been contacted and told that serious discipline will be handed out for any retaliation. I also wouldn't be surprised if the on-ice officials will be told to call the game very close.

Those who want Crosby taken out are crazy. He was not at fault for what Cooke did. If a Bruin player does take out Crosby, it merely shows that the player or players involves are just stooping to Cooke's level of play. If that happens, be sure that the Pens will definately retaliate and as a result, most probably, both teams will be invited to a meeting with the NHL to discuss players getting suspended.
 
Someone should fight Cooke, and Cooke will accept. I have no doubt about that. If guys also want to target Cooke with hard, clean hits afterwards, I would have no problem with that.
Like bsaeagle said, people who want someone to injure Crosby are insane.
