Looking at the Patriots - 2019

We're really going sky high with the receivers aren't we? If Gordon comes back, paired with Harry now Inman, that's a tall group.

With Jules, Berrios, Dorsett as the compact receivers and a RB corp with guys like White and Harris that can catch as well, this could be a dymanic attacking group.

Yup, a TE-less dynamic attacking group

Looks like Jerod Mayo has been added to the staff as an Assistant Coach (looks like primarily working with LBs)

I forgot about Thomas!

In a league of smaller DBs, this indeed is Bill playing chess.

That's great, he's a smart guy and great to have an ex-player of his standing as a coach.

Leaves Tommy Curran in search of yet another sidekick.

Cheers

You laugh. It's as possible as anything else.

Either that or we're just going to run fucking wishbone this year. Thomas would enjoy going back to that kind of offense, I'm sure. :coffee:

I'm not laughing. I am aware of the proper use of the coffee guy. I was serious. I do not dispute your claim of using the wishbone all year, though you were not likely serious. Look at the team. It isn't unrealistic. Who can defend it? I said previously that BB will unveil a 5-RB set and I was serious then as well. :toast:

Is BB done with midget WRs. They just signed Inman . 6'3 WR. BB now WRs taller then 6 foot. I wonder if this makes Dorcett expendable. He only been descent at one route .

Could it happen??? Could it?

Rudolph will either take a pay cut or be released bc no team will trade for his production with that contract.

One thing to note about Rudolph: He had more missed blocks than any TE in the league in 2017 & 2018. That doesn't translate to a Patriots TE.

edit:
Per PFF, in 2018 Rudolph, $7+M, ranked 35th overall but only 91st in run blocking and 85th in pass blocking. He's an H-back in a TE body.

Watson, $3M, ranked 17th overall and is a far better blocking TE than Rudolph. It's time to forget about Kyle Rudolph.

Since Thursday the Pats have signed all draftees except for Harry and 3rd rounders Chase Winovich and Damien Harris.

Second-round cornerback Joejuan Williams was the first reported signing, followed by offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste (round three), quarterback Jarrett Stidham (round four) and defensive lineman Byron Cowart (round five). On Friday, three more rookies, Froholdt, P Bailey and CB Ken Webster, joined them to bring the total of signed draft selections to seven out of ten.

We're getting a sense of what the coaching staff will look like this season:
McDaniels: OC
Scar: OL
Fears: RBs
Caley: TEs
Judge: WRs/ST
Bielema: DL
Mayo: ILBs
DeMarcus Covington: OLBs
Mike Pellegrino: CBs
S. Belichick: S

Brady is older than six of the Patriots positional coaches, some by a long-shot: Mike Pellegrino (25), DeMarcus Covington (30), Steve Belichick (32), Jerod Mayo (33), Nick Caley (36), Joe Judge (37).

For those who think the Patriots get all the calls:
Last year New England opponents were flagged 105 times in the regular season, which ranked 31st in the league. Only Dallas opponents had fewer penalties.

Yes in deed WRs. Maurice Harris 6'3" 200 lbs,
N'Keal Harry 6'2" 228 lbs, Jakobi Meyers 6'2" 200 lbs, Damoun Patterson 6'2" 190 lbs, Demaryius Thomas 6'3" 229 lbs, and Xavier Ubosi 6'4" 200 lbs. and now Dontrelle Inman 6'3"205 lbs. It would only take two or three of these guys to make the 53 to force DCs to rethink how they have to cover the Pats.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Harry play, he has the makings of a serious player, maybe an Anquan Boldin type.

Boldin seems to be the comparison that is most common, but I heard Bruce Murray, one of the NFL radio guys whose opinions are generally sensible, saying that he sees a lot of Michael Irvin in Harry's game.

We can only hope he approaches either one. Irvin played 12 seasons and caught 750 balls for 15.9 avg and 65 TDs. Boldin played 13 and caught 1078 for 12.8 and 82 TDs.

Harry is still at all zeros, but I'm not going to pump the brakes on him. It's such a novelty to have a guy like him come in here. It's gonna be fun to watch him develop.

I'm usually not too excited about rookie receivers, for obvious reasons, but after seeing highlights of him, I can't help but get excited. He looks like he could be really good. I hope he can deliver.
