Mac Jones Is Our QB1

According to CBSSports here are keys to the game, with our QB Mac Jones and the Pats. For what it is worth.

Keys to the game

Patriots: Get Damien Harris going

The Patriots running game was nonexistent in their Week 4 loss to the Buccaneers, rushing for -1 yard as a team. Damien Harris, specifically, had -4 yards on four carries. That's simply not going to win you many football games and New England should look to get a running game going against Houston, especially with its offensive line banged up. So far this season, the Texans are allowing 137 yards on the ground and eight rushing scores, which is tied for the league-worst. According to Pro Football Focus' grading system, Houston ranks 27th in the league against the run. If the Patriots can establish Harris early, it could prove to be a dominant day for New England.

Texans: Create some semblance of offense

Houston was demolished by the Bills in Week 4, losing 40-0 on the road. Mills passed for just 87 yards and four interceptions on the day while the running game totaled 48 yards on just 2.7 yards per carry. That can't continue if they want to start being competitive in these games with Mills under center, but they do have a tough task with New England's front seven. This defense does have pass rushers that can get to the quarterback, especially Matt Judon. The linebacker has 19 pressures (4.5 sacks) on the season, including five last week against Tom Brady. If the Texans' offensive line can't contain him and give Mills time to throw the football, it may be another long day for David Culley's team.

Prediction

The Patriots are heavy road favorite in this game as Caesars Sportsbook has this spread at New England -9. They are clearly the better team on paper and that should play out in this game. It's also worth noting that Bill Belichick is spectacular against rookie quarterbacks. The hoodie is 22-6 against first-year quarterbacks and his defenses have also allowed just 9.5 points per game in their last six games against first-year signal callers (Zach Wilson, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, and Josh Allen were the six QBs). This game shouldn't be much of a contest.

Pick: Patriots 24, Texans 10

Time for the Patriots to protect Mac

Protect Mac
He keeps showing he's got some guts. It's an honor to get to play with a guy like that. We just have to find a way to win, win a football game. He battles, he battles and he's a tough kid.

anyone notice that THE BEN is nowhere on the top hit qbs list? just sayin'... :coffee:

I really adore Andrews. Now take care of him, bucko. LOLOL

Mac is our QB now, tomorrow, Sunday and until further notice.

I have a full charge.
And what should be happening is discussing the truth like how Mac embarrassed Tom Brady on national TV, completely outperforming him, as these loser fans keep trying to tell us something different in their creepy world of disinformation, taking cues from trolls like Felger and Mazz.

Mac looks really good so far, setting NFL records as a rookie left and right in the process.

That game is over. We have Houston in two day. He does look good and so far, and yes I know it is only four games, he is transitioning decently.

Three of the top 10 are former Bama players in the top ten and they have three in 11-20 out of Bama.

I am thrilled with how he looks so far and that should have fans beaming, but as you can see, there's that same batch of loser fans that have a creepy fixation with only you know who that got brainwashed for the past 10 years thinking it was all him. You're smart enough to know it wasn't. If it was we wouldn't have seen 2 losses to Giants in SBs with his horrendously bad play and game management, for example.

Anyway, I see them being so close so early this season as a positive, not a negative. BB's teams usually start slow and find themselves through Sept and into Oct. Obviously, that veteran QB would be a plus, but 2 winnable games gets back square. Sure, it's frustrating with how the losses have come, but the way they played is the key last week, especially after that Saints game, which was substandard across the board.

And, I'll put my money on the house with BB's teaching and coaching up players with good attitudes who want to improve as opposed to thinking somehow BB can't coach anymore like some people imply here.

It's one of the dumbest things I've seen in sports history. Great player leaves, HOF coach all of a sudden stinks. Welcome to Covid logic 101 in the strange world we live in today.
This is my weak ass silver lining. LOL
Two of our loses are against the NFC . We will get better, all we need to do, I know using the all we need to remark, is handle our conference.

You know, that's a good point. It's not that weak if they can right the ship here, settle in a bit and then wax Miami in Miami later in the year.

I'm just afraid their gonna have on open tryout for offensive lineman this week. I should never have said "it couldn't be worse"
There are some things you should never say. "Wow, it's been forever since I had a flat tire." "We haven't gotten much snow here the last few years." I don't know what it is but I can eat all I want and never gain any weight."

You shouldn't have been. He's a kid, he's played 4 NFL games. He's going to make mistakes. Every rookie QB does. Every single one.
That’s what I’m amazed at. He has literally playes 4 pro games. Can we give him a season before condemning him?

Mac should have a field day with short quick passes against the Texans' soft 2 high safety zone no matter who plays on our OL.
