NFL Coaches Salaries

Why is it perfectly acceptable to know the dollar values paid toward players and coaches, yet front office execs are off-limits?

This is not how it's handled in most other businesses, the line that alot like to throw out.

BB? A bargain.

BB turned this franchise around. I know some will give credit to Parcells. But the minute he left we started the precipitous slide back to levels close to suck.

No, BB is the master. And I think by sheer osmosis he's probably taught Krafty what to look for if he is indeed ever in the market to have to replace him.

But if the books were opened tomorrow how would everyone feel when they learned Jonathan was bringing home more?

Hmmmmmm

Wouldn't bother me in the least. The ownership is the one taking all the risks. If the league went under due to the economy, which could happen in a few years as ridiculus as this sounds now, you won't see players giving any money back. Now owners that don't put out a quality product should be accountable for that, but the Krafts deserve what they take in.

You're insane.

TV revenues are at an all time high.

It's the runaway national sport now and it isn't even close.

The owners are above risk now. Initially? Yeah. But Bob laid out $175 million and turned it into a franchise worth in excess of a $1 billion, and enbled himself to build the budding metropolis of Patriot Place. His "risk" has been paid off in spades.

As to the outcry if it were known Jonathan was being paid in excess of BB? I think you're in the minority. The outcry would be ridiculous. And that is why they're so adamant about not disclosing: the embarassment.

It is their business. They should be able to distribute the income in anyway they deem appropriate. Sure they should be smart and fair about it, based on contribution, but the business belongs to the owners. If the owners are smart, they will distribute enough wealth to keep the players happy, but this is not socialism. If I owned the team and wanted to pay my son the same as Tom Brady, I should be able to do that.

So what you are saying is if you take a risk, and it pays off in spades, you have to share the wealth, but if you take a risk and it doesn't pay off, too bad for you? Seems like a double standard.

You're not paying attention to what I'm saying at all. I agree the owners should be able to hire and pay whatever they choose. But it should come out of the $1 billion dollars they're skimming off the top already as a slush fund. Taking another $1 billion in addition to the $1 billion they already skim takes money directly out of the players pockets, in order for their frivolous spending on anything and everything they want. Wrong. Hire and pay what you want. But it's not a legit expense for "growing the game". Pay for that out of your own piece of the pie you already get, if you want.

Zero problem. It's Kraft's money paying BB. His decision.

Schrutes and Co., take the pissing contest over greedy players and evil owners to the labor thread or the Circus threads on the subject ... sheesh, we can't even get a good Manning v. Belichick donnybrook going without someone trying to Pi in the punch bowl! :cuss:
