I’ll never forget when she ordered the United States national anthem right after 9/11 attack. Rest In Peace

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.

Her family gathered at her Scottish estate after concerns grew about her health earlier on Thursday.

The Queen came to the throne in 1952 and witnessed enormous social change.

With her death, her eldest son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, will lead the country in mourning as the new King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth realms.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

"The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."

All the Queen's children travelled to Balmoral, near Aberdeen, after doctors placed the Queen under medical supervision.

Her grandson, Prince William, is also there, with his brother, Prince Harry, on his way.

RIP and condolences to the family.
Long live King Charles III.

Huge loss, her visit to Ireland in 2011, the first ever visit by an English monarch to Ireland since the war of Independence, was monumental and cemented the peace process. She was a great lady. RIP.

RIP Queen Queen - in WW2.jpegElizabeth, she was a great one for sure, and she earned her stripes in WW2:

Sad for her family. She did a good job in very difficult circumstances and it's a sad time.

Weird to have a King for the first time in my life.

We've all had an Emperor for a while....

The best coach in any sport I follow. I'd rate Alex Ferguson up there as well (as a United fan), but Belichick is the GOAT.

I'll never forget things like the deliberate safety against Denver; the D against the Rams in both Superbowls; using Vrabel on offence and so on. I also think Brady has a lot to thank him for (and vice versa).
