Per several Pats beat reporters. The Pats won't say what it's about or who is expected to attend. There's heavy speculation it's about Nink's retirement.

What??? Brady's retiring? How do these rumors get started, anyway??? :coffee:

I heard they're now saying they're moving the team to St.Louis.

Nink will announce his retirement from the Patriots Sunday afternoon in Foxborough.

BB liked him bc he was dependable and almost always available. He's just too slow to compete with the young bucks - simple as that. Sad for him but glad for the Pats.

We've known this, haven't we. But look up 110% in the dictionary and there's Nink's picture.

All the best Nink.

Cheers

Will miss him. A true :patriotlogo: and a true successor to Tedy's No. 50. Good luck, Nink!

You've got it all wrong. No one is retiring. Presser called to announce BB's engagement. They'll be having the ceremony at midfield after the next SB win. It'll be a double ring ceremony: Pats get the Lombardi and coach gets the shaft. (or maybe it's Linda who'll be getting the shaft )

Sad to see him go, but he was honest with himself and the team saying training showed him it was time.

Good PC with nice words from BB about a guy who epitomised the Patriot program.

not may not have been the best player on the field, but for a long time always seemed to come up with THE timely play. Best of luck in future endeavors.

Wow, if you can watch the last few minutes of his presser when he thanks first Matty P and then BB without shedding a tear, you're a better man than me.

Super PC from Ninko, all class.

Always did have a soft spot for Ninkovich, sad to see him go, but obviously he felt that the time was right. He's had a great career in NE, an unsung hero.

Wish him all the best, but as BB said, he's going to be around the team, I wonder if maybe he'll look to go into coaching or maybe a local media job?

Thanks for your hard work & for all the memories you created, Nink. Good luck to you. :patriotlogo:

With Flowers on the right who takes over for Nink on the left?

1. Shea McClellin is 1 possiblity. He's athletic enough to set the edge or cover a RB or a TE. Perfect? No. He needs more strength but he's got some experience.
2. Kyle Van Noy has been used there some the last couple of practices but that's BB cross training again imo
3. Derek Rivers or Dietrich Wise. Possible but more likely BB will rotate them in slowly.
4. Maybe BB will trade for someone or wait for cutdowns & sign a veteran edge guy.
5. Dont'a Hightower. I think he's a good answer especially with David Harris on board. High played plenty of DE/Edge at Alabama. He's smart, he's plenty strong and although not fast, he's fast enough in coverage.
