Pats Tender Mankins and others

Seattle took it to arbitration and lost back then. Then they went and stuck a poison pill into their offer for Nate Burleson. Hasn't really happened since, at least not that I remember.

And yes, the Colts could steal Ghost for a second rounder, very easily so.

Not just a second rounder, but the next to last pick in the second round. It might as well be a third rounder.

Are teams still allowed to stick poison pills into contract offers of those RFA's who have been tendered? If so, that could be very bad news with the CBA in the status its in.
even with no poison pill I think the time it takes to do this can hurt a team with other dealings

Yeah, thats when I thought/hoped things had changed with them.

Ghost is only tied to a second round tender. He can get a contract for good money from the Blue Toilet Seats with a poison pill in it. The Pats cant match, so he walks for the price of what would almost amount to a third round pick.
depending on the tender, rumors of the lowest tender is what I heard making it a 4th round pick

thanks I missed that....

And there is no way that anyone is going to give away a 2nd rounder for a kicker and if you think otherwise ask yourself if you had one 2nd rounder would you give it away for Ghost when you can get a kicker like Leigh Tiffin in the 6th round?

Al Davis on line one.

Extremely reliable kicker in the elements, proven, and can frequently kick the ball off through the end zone. That is like money in the bank. Hmmm.....Thats a tough one. not.

Indy plays 8 games at home in their retractable roof stadium. Last year they played away at Miami, Arizona, Houston, and jacksonville (not exactly cold snowy places). So a significant number of their games are under a dome or in good weather places.
Do you know how many kickers have been drafted in the first or second round? That I know of.....2.

BTW, Tiffin has a great leg and has kicked a 54 yard field goal.

"Tiffin, quite possibly this year's top prospect at the position, was 30-of-35 on field goals as a senior and is a touchback machine"

Dear MD,

Thank you so much for your note on how we should acquire players through free agency. We really appreciate your advice since your expertise is legendary. It is rare that we hear from a 3 time Super Bowl winner. Oh wait...I've won 3 Super Bowls not you, now I remember.
But you are correct in saying that I have a ton of cash and the reason I have a ton of cash is because I don't listen to guys like you. In fact, I generally do the opposite of what guys like you think.
You see, unlike you, I see the players on my team as tools. I have no emotional attachment to them and I understand that these tools are interchangeable and at some point expendable. When a tool gets older you replace it, so you have to be careful what you pay for a tool especially when you buy it used. In fact, the worst thing you can do as a businessman is to pay too much for a tool.
When a tool from our team becomes available to other teams we use every bit of leverage that we can because, as much as they protest in public, the tool knows in the end that it's just a business transaction.
So again thanks for your advice and thanks also for your invitation to meet in Dallas but as I mentioned earlier I've got a ton of cash and I don't sit in the cheap seats.

Bob Kraft

This must be eff with Dan week or something.

Dear RI,

Thanks for spending the time you should have been learning the meaning of sarcasm preaching and talking down to others. Had you gained that knowledge and understanding, I would have been deprived of this deliciously snarky rebuttal.

Kisses,

MD
