Dear MD,
Thank you so much for your note on how we should acquire players through free agency. We really appreciate your advice since your expertise is legendary. It is rare that we hear from a 3 time Super Bowl winner. Oh wait...I've won 3 Super Bowls not you, now I remember.
But you are correct in saying that I have a ton of cash and the reason I have a ton of cash is because I don't listen to guys like you. In fact, I generally do the opposite of what guys like you think.
You see, unlike you, I see the players on my team as tools. I have no emotional attachment to them and I understand that these tools are interchangeable and at some point expendable. When a tool gets older you replace it, so you have to be careful what you pay for a tool especially when you buy it used. In fact, the worst thing you can do as a businessman is to pay too much for a tool.
When a tool from our team becomes available to other teams we use every bit of leverage that we can because, as much as they protest in public, the tool knows in the end that it's just a business transaction.
So again thanks for your advice and thanks also for your invitation to meet in Dallas but as I mentioned earlier I've got a ton of cash and I don't sit in the cheap seats.
Regards,
Bob Kraft
