Patriots vs. Cardinals: Official Game Thread

Yes.

The concerns about the O line are real. they can't give Brady the protection heed needs when they go against a team with a strong pass rush.

And Brady, as usual, turns into a pile of quivering sh1t when he gets knocked down a few times.

Huh. I musta missed that.

Maybe NE will finally stop using the first half to 'figure out' what the other team is doing, and play more aggressively right out of the LR.

Agreed, but out of everything, I'm putting the onus on the offense.

They scored what, 12 points before the defense turned the ball over in the 4th quarter?

That's pathetic with the offense that the Patriots have.

You mean they scored 12 points before the 88 yard drive for the td? I am not saying the offense played great, but there were other factors too..and as I said, we still should have won.

That was the other thing I hated, and it was the playcalling....when the pats play agressive they moved the ball down the field, they start doing 3 runs and a punt, it does not work....use the run on the right downs, I have never seen a toss sweep on a 3rd and 7 with this pats team.

Neither have our opponents then..

It wasn't Brady's best game but putting the blame on him is misguided. My biggest concern going forward is still the OL.

Are you sure he is not a quivering piece of shit that cannot take hits? No it was not his best game, I can say that about a few people, but once again when they call offensive aggressively we make plays and they did....It sucks the way they lost man, not sure how else I can say it, they make that kick, I can handle the offense still trying to figure things out for another week.

Nope, this weeks on me.

I'll warn you right now that the week 2 game against Arizona is a problem.

Why?

Because the Giants are playing at the same time and playing against an NFC team.

This means my local Fox station will be showing the Giants game and not the Pats game.

So I have to go to a bar to watch the game.

This means I won't have access to my whisky rack

Edit: Oh yeah, 13-3 with the other two losses to Buffalo and SF.

Oh was that what they were going for, trickery? Well it sure worked...there is a reason we do not toss sweep on 3rd and 7, or run a off tackle on 2nd and 10...it does not work well.

Pathetic all around. The D wasnt much better than the O. The secondary is just as plain and discusting as ever. Coaching bad too. We get a gift, after playing horrible, and blow that too:mad: :lame:

Defense today:

Allowed 56% passing, 140 yds, 5.2 YPA, 1 passing TD, 2 completions over 20 yards
105 rushing yds (3.2), 1 rushing TD (QB sneak)
245 yds total, 4.0 yds per play
29% 3rd down conversions

Forced/recovered two fumbles, including the one at the ARZ 30 that gave the offense a chance to win it with less than a minute left

Held the Cards to a FG after the Brady INT at the Pats 20.
Allowed a TD from their own 2 yd-line after the blocked punt (on Ebner, BTW)
Allowed two drives of more than 30 yds - one for a FG (60) the other for a TD (75).

Allowed 20 points total, 10 of those when ARZ started their "drives" already in the redzone.

I really don't see how the defense wasn't much, much better than the offense.

The OL was and is our weak link. And the whole Ebner story is cute, but he has no business being out there with professional football players. He cost us a TD on that failed punt.

defense was fine, but we were not really playing a great offensive team, but they did hold fitz pretty good...D is fine, we had too many miscues and some bad luck and sometimes you lose those games.

I was forced to read the blog on the android patriots app for this game and the whole game just sucked even to read. But to have them come back like that at the end and still put themselves in position to win the game only to f'n blow it like that hurts A LOT... They got some 'splaining to do. I hope this is our yearly stinker of a game and we can move on from this...

That was the worst part, I would rather get blown out.

AHern was obviously a huge piece in today's gameplan, and once he was injured, it was offensive patchwork. Lloyd and Welker need to catch the frickin' balls, and Brady needs to make better throws. 3-4 more completions would have changed the game.

Me too, I was leaving the skating rink (my daughter's bday party) thinking we lost the game only to get in the truck to continue reading the blog to see Spikes stripped it! big gain to gronk, big gain to welker, setting up for the fg at the 24... then the words "He missed it" and my phone died... WT F'n F man???
