Scam Newton

He's an emotional child, but will likely be back in the Super Bowl again and handle it better.

Yeah terrible performance. If nothing else I thought he would have brushed it off too much. I really expected him to be calm and confident and simply say "we'll be back" smiling. But to sit up there with a hood over your head and answer questions like a five year old? C'mon Bro!!

That's the Cam Newton I recognize. Though I thought he actually matured this season, guess not.

I watched the post game interview...honestly, I would have been beyond pissed off about losing in the big game. I don't even fault him for this. I've watched similar BB post game interviews.

It's the fumble when the game was on the line...and he doesn't even fight for it. The Panthers still had a shot at winning...and that felt like the dagger going in. He pretty much was the main reason why they lost.

Not mad at his press conference. He has emotions like all of us. He could of excused himself better but I guess when you come off arrogant. The fall is hard

Being spared the sight of him showboating doesn't bother me much. He acted like a tool when he was winning all those games, so not really surprised at his presser.

The moment he realized it wasn't going to be easy, he packed it in. He showed no spark, was lumbering, pouting. The Denver defense had a lot to do with that, but contrast his competitiveness with Brady's. Brady was absorbing the same hits. But he popped back up and showed some fire. Newton dragged himself off the grass, casually went to the huddle, didn't encourage his teammates. How many delay of games, or near delays, did they take because Newton couldn't get himself going.

I'm not sure he'll be back. He still doesn't have the maturity to lift his team when things aren't going well.

I think the Broncos broke his will and it happened way before he turtled on the fumble recovery.

This.

Brady has the respect of guys on great defenses (ie. recent NYG comments) because he gets up and competes. Despite a shitty game against Denver, Brady dug deep to lead a near game-tying drive at the end of the game a few weeks ago. Cam turtled.

Cam has a lot of talent but his attitude sucks and I'm glad the Broncos shut him up and wiped that clown smile off his face. He's got some growing up to do. If his maturity ever matches his physical skill, look out. Otherwise, he could be the next Andy Dalton.

You saw a worrying glimpse of Cam's immaturity in the NFCCG. There was a timeout called for some reason by Carolina, Cam wasn't happy and the microphone picked him throwing a petulant strop at the coaches.

I think what we saw yesterday was a very cocky player who never thought it was going to pan out the way it did. The Panthers have to face it, they were arrogant. Cam I can imagine dismissed Miller and co beforehand, no way could they touch him, if they blitz, then fine I'll just run and gain yards myself or I'll find open players downfield as they'll be coming with 7 men.

I'm not so quick to give him that. Everybody thought Marino would be back several times. How'd that work out?
