Scam Newton

Cam melted like an ice cream cone on a hot July day. He and his team read too many media stories about themselves this year. No grit or drive when faced with adversity. Backing away from his own fumble tells you all you need to know. Cam is a total tool.

It was only the Panther defense that came to play. Ealy was outstanding the Kuechly showed Cam how to play in the big game.

Said it yesterday though, a very very poor year for O Line play throughout the league.

If you were a top rated O Lineman in this years draft, it's the lottery win for you.

Kony Ealy rocks!...

I thought it was too bad Cam was the only Panther on offense. Cotchery dropped 3 passes right in his hands and 1 for a possible TD. SOJ. Ginn finally showed up in 3rd qtr for a little while. Multiple false starts and fumbles stopped drives.

He was petulant and despondent for sure in his presser but at least he didn't throw his team mates under the bus for not showing up. He's young - he'll learn to handle adversity and disappointment better with maturity.

From Wade Phillips, ouch!!

Wade Phillips @sonofbum
A little Dab with do you but too much Dab will undo you!

Actually, I can see in a way why Newton walked out of the interview.

In the background you can clearly hear Chris Harris asking "Can you throw the football??"

Being spared the sight of him showboating doesn't bother me much. He acted like a tool when he was winning all those games, so not really surprised at his presser.

I always love to see a cocky asshole get shut up.

Beautifully put.

I never liked Newton, but when he had the gall to suggest that people that don't like him are racists who don't like black QBs he really pissed me off. Note: certain black people are just assholes, Cam. Not misunderstood ---- just assholes.

I loved his Big SB L Melt Down from the very first play where he dramatically closed his eyes over center as if communicating directly with God and made sure every camera captured that moment.

Unfortunately, the race thing will be brought up. You will see black pundits sticking up for him and implying any criticism is racist, (actually you'll get a lot more hand wringing white liberals saying it) and you will of course get genuine racists who will point at him and say ha, we told you, like McNabb, Vince Young, Mike Vick, they're all talk but they never deliver.

The assh**es on both sides will continue to deliver.

The moment he realized it wasn't going to be easy, he packed it in. He showed no spark, was lumbering, pouting. The Denver defense had a lot to do with that, but contrast his competitiveness with Brady's. Brady was absorbing the same hits. But he popped back up and showed some fire. Newton dragged himself off the grass, casually went to the huddle, didn't encourage his teammates. How many delay of games, or near delays, did they take because Newton couldn't get himself going.

I'm not sure he'll be back. He still doesn't have the maturity to lift his team when things aren't going well.

Exactly. Things didn't go his way early and he took his ball and went home in front of a 100 million people.

They broke the huddle with about six minutes to go and he just stayed kneeling for a good long while. The OL is lining up and he's just getting to his feet. They had every opportunity to get back in the game with a good drive and he was acting like he wasn't interested. McNabbesque.

My brother actually said to me last night before the game that he thought Cam could win 4-5 SBs. Well, he did not even get number one.

I have said this before and I will say again, you can have all these QBs that have immense talent and athletic ability all day long just give ME Brady and his competitiveness and never say die attitude no matter how much he is getting his teeth kicked in and we will win super bowls.

I'm far from a Cam fan, but I heard that prayer explained as something he does before the first snap he takes every game, for his mom.

And, he did not handle himself well and I feel he is quite immature and a front runner, but I do recall our team's QB getting pissy and stomping off a podium or two i.e. after that horrific loss to Indy in 05 I think (and I criticized him for it too, so I am no hypocrite).

Then not going for the fumble was the gobsmacker. TB would have died fighting for that. Hell he does in preseason.

I agree with that, but to be fair, Brady faced this Denver defense and threw a couple picks and ended up losing too.

It makes me wonder, if the Pats had completed the 2 point conversion and won in OT, maybe the would have had a shot in this Super Bowl, though the Pats were pretty beat up.

Funnier than the Sherman gif:

Surprised he wasn't looking for the cameras when he did this, maybe he saw them pointing his direction. Such a showboating asshole when he's winning, and huge sore loser when he's losing. I disliked his showboating all season long, but was rooting for Carolina to win, but that Denver defense, wow. They beat up QBs like crazy, corners had sacks, safeties had sacks, they were just blitzing like crazy. Cam had nowhere to hide, except the hole he dug into the ground when he dove the opposite direction of the ball on his second fumble.
