That's from 2011 but it's still pertinent today.
 
Felgy was, is, and always will be about saying something to generate interest. Even if its negative. Even if he doesn't believe it. It drives ratings and interest. I generally ignore him.
 
I just watched an old Simpsons episode last night where Grampa Simpson was revealed as an old time wrestler who's job was being hated. Made him famous but at he finally realized it sucks being hated no matter the fame.

So, I like where you're heads at, however "letting them know you're outraged" is also "letting them know you're watching".

Their business model is clicks. If you want to hurt their wallets, you have to stop clicking and start shunning.

Also, sidebar, as someone who has started shunning like 99% of sports media, I promise you you'll miss nothing. These dummies add nothing to your life but irritation.

The media for the most part has went a direction that basically has ruined it for me to the point its hard to even watch it or read it. Its no longer about information or entertainment, its shock jock hot take crap. When in the history of the NFL have you seen a professional sports analyst go after a future hall of fame QB like Kellerman has with Brady? Has it ever happened? I mean its not even a back and forth as far as I know Brady has never even talked to him. Flipping through youtube on the patriots is filled with crap like...Were the Patriots really that impressive or did the Rams choke, Does Belichick Carry Brady, Brady is not the goat he is the Loat. Etc etc

I know that internet did not exist in the 80's and early 90's, but can anyone remember ever remember hearing a sports analyst on ESPN saying that, that 31 other teams should conspire to overthrow the Niners? Or Hey someone should take out Troy Aikmans knee? Maybe my team was not good then so I didn't notice it, but I just don't ever remember it this way.

BOSTON (CBS) – 98.5 The Sports Hub afternoon co-host Michael Felger said it was “regrettable” that he brought Heidi Watney’s name into a now infamous rant about the Red Sox earlier this week.

NESN reporter Heidi Watney joined Toucher & Rich on Thursday morning to respond to comments Felger made on Wednesday’s show about her.

“In the assassination of just about everyone’s character that’s involved remotely with the Red Sox these days, it seems, he brought my name in the mix and a rumor that I was linked to when I first got into town,” Watney said of Felger’s rant, which alluded to a relationship with Red Sox captain Jason Varitek.

“Which, by the way, is not true,” she added.

On Thursday’s show, Felger clarified his remarks.

Referencing a Boston Globe article that mentions Terry Francona’s marital problems contributing to the collapse of the Sox Felger said,”Why do we stop there then? Let’s look at ownership and why wouldn’t we look at players?”

“How has Jason Varitek looked the last couple of years during the same time period, where apparently he’s had marital troubles? Why don’t we dig into this story? That’s my only point,” explained Felger.

“Now bringing Heidi into it,” Felger admitted, “Regrettable because it’s not about really about her, it’s about Varitek, it’s about ownership, it’s about the uniform personnel that contributed to this collapse and what where the reasons behind it.”

“It’s not about a sideline reporter,” Felger said.

I have to admit, I take my hat off to Felger and Mazz. Even though I don't listen.

With all the recent championships, they still manage to have negative takes on everything. And people ACTUALLY listen!!!!!!
