RIP "Mary Ann" from Gilligan's Island

Sad to hear this. Reportedly she was as sweet in real life as the role she played.

Gilligan's Island was good fun. Seven people from different walks of life coming together for survival and ending up caring for each other as family despite any bickering, ha! That's a powerful message for kids.

Ironically, Tina Louise is the last original cast member left.

RIP, Dawn/Mary Ann!

She was much beloved by us teen age boys back in the 60's- pretty wholesome, sexy, and genuine - we loved her.

RIP Dawn Wells, but in our hearts you'll always be Mary Ann.

It's sad, I went to see a Neil Simon play decades back, because she was in it. I can't remember the name of the play, but she was wonderful in it.

Most likely “Chapter Two” by Neil Simon.

RIP, Dawn.

I went to a local bar with my wife some years back. The bar was smallish and in a horseshoe shape and it was easy to talk to people all around it. I don't remember why, but for some reason the sex life on Gilligan's Island came up in public convo and I think everybody there weighed in with their opinions of what might've gone on despite the fact the show was written squeaky clean. Some of the theories were hilarious but my take away from the night was the amount of detailed thought that went into all the speculation. Complete strangers bonding over total nonsense, but it was a fun time.

Of course, would you prefer Ginger or Maryann? was the question that you heard all the time. Do you like the Hollywood Starlet or the nice girl next door? Dawn Wells was inadvertently involved in a national referendum on male morality and FWIW she clearly won the day. Three to one, at least by my count.

RIP, Dawn.

My 1st crush TV wise was Goldie.

But yes, Maryann over Ginger...that's even though I married a redhead,

I remember a radio interview just last year with Maryann.
So much more than her character,

I want to see a 24 hour Gilligans Island marathon today,
Would be great,.

RIP.
