Looking at the Patriots - 2021

Offensive Rookie of the Year - Mac Jones
Coach of the Year - BB
Exec of the Year - BB

"The Ravens' John Harbaugh, Cardinals' Kliff Kingsbury, Packers' Matt LaFleur and Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn received two votes each. The Rams' Sean McVay, Chargers' Brandon Staley, Bengals' Zac Taylor and Titans' Mike Vrabel each received one."

I'd have expected Kingsbury, LaFleur, and Vrabel to pick up essentially all the non-BB votes. On the outside, I could maybe see the argument for Harbaugh just in terms of handling the insane injury blitz, but that's a stretch, especially considering the same argument could apply to LaFleur. No idea why you'd vote for any of the others this year, and WTF is with not just one, but two votes for a coordinator?

Tom Pelissero's annual early awards survey was completed this week by high-ranking executives from 23 NFL teams, including 10 general managers. All 23 individuals participated on the condition of anonymity for competitive reasons and to provide an honest assessment.

Offensive Rookie of the Year - Mac Jones

Exec of the Year - BB

real votes, kind of like the h.o.f. should be.

Great stuff, the Pats sports writers gave awarded Judin the Ron Hobson Good Guy award for the way he's dealt with the media. Always open and good humoured. Well deserved!

I grew up on the South Shore in the 1950s and 1960s, and we got the Patriot Ledger delivered six days a week.

I was a regular reader of the sports section, and Ron Hobson was my source for all professional sports commentary in the Boston area.

I later became a fan of the terrific stable of writers at the Boston Globe: Peter Gammons, Bob Ryan, Jackie MacMullan, and others. And I even enjoyed Cliff and Claf at the Herald.

But Ron Hobson, and his column Hobson's Choice, will always remain the standard by which I judge sportswriters.

Speaking of N'Keal Harry, who remembers when Deebo Samuel after a pre-draft visit with the Patriots posting a video on IG saying "Hey Billy, I'll see you in a month, my man" with Gillette in the background. We knew right then Deebo wouldn't hear from BB again.

Then after that draft we heard that WR AJ Brown "cried (his) eyes out" when the Patriots didn't pick him.
Just saying...it's time for Harry to be that guy so throw him the damn ball some more!

The stupidity of this and shows how reverse racism works. Dude sees a good white WR and automatically tries to compare him to Jules. Loves Jules's response! I mean Cupp is a 6ft 2 WR who was a 1000 yard a year college All-American star. Jules is 5ft 10 and was a college QB in a minor college who was drafted in the 7th round.

I clearly remember this...and said the same thing. That being said, BB still should have drafted him.

I think, the team has overachieved this year when you look at it. Rookie QB, load of changes, and somehow, against all the odds they got themselves to number one seed in the AFC. I think many of us said it, it was more a reflection of how poor the AFC is this season. I mean the Patriots should never have been allowed to go number one. I don't believe it matters if we're a division winner or Wild Card at this stage. We're worse at home this season and a Wild card spot will see us going to the Bengals as of now. I don't think it matters, there are no two teams getting the bye anymore so going on the road, doesn't really matter.

What is annoying is the attitude last week and this. We faced two teams who simply wanted it more. Both the Bills and Colts were more fired up and looked hungrier. And the defense has regressed. It's different to 2019 and the "Boogeymen" because what happened as in 19, the defense started off playing lights out and the team went 9-0? And they then fell off a cliff. This season the D started slowly, there were some issues but then stepped up but now, they're regressing a bit. Not a total collapse but they need to fix things in the front 7. Hightower is nowhere to be seen these days. They can still come good in the playoffs.

While I agree with most of what you said... the defense really was bad in the second half of this game but I see no insurmountable issues going forward....again just my humble opinion

Nothing like an outbreak right before playing the worst team in the league. That is worrisome.

I hope that isn't the case, but man, it wouldn't surprise me...
