Bill and Kraft part ways

They really aren't, thats the issue. Look up the defensive ranking of the Pats, and then compare that to every other top 5 draft picking team in recent memory at least. They are a massive outlier compared to those teams that are usually at the bottom of the league in defensive and offensive ratings. The Pats aren't.

Thats the real danger here. Adding Judon and Gonzo, an offseason for Keion White...this D could be very, very special with BB at the helm. Unless Jimmy Johnson is walking through that door this team is going backwards worse than they are now. Or even worse, a treadmill team for a decade.
Wut? Since when is defense the only part of the team? The offense and STs were the worst in the league this year. The defense is loaded with talent because Bill invested in that side of the ball. The new HC and DC will have the easiest job on the team IMO. Where we will see the biggest difference will be on the offense where hopefully the GM adds talent and finds a decent QB.

Kraft just stuck it to Bill. Said Everything will all on him from the Draft to money and all. We shall see RKK

The Patriots feasted against bad QBs. That doesn't mean that the defense was elite. We've seen this show before. We'll never know what might have been, but that's built in to the reality of moving on from any coach.

There is no real danger here. The team was already in a spiral.

Gonna have to disagree on that. The D was put in horrific situations by the offense all year long, or at least while Mac was the QB. To still have the rating they did is quite something. How easy is to to play defense when the O is going 3 and out left and right then tossing picks and putting you on the field at your own 10 yard line.

The D is beyond fine and is set up to be a wagon if coached properly.

how many time was this D put with the ball on the 20 yard line from a turnover only to give 3 or less points. how many times was this D on the field the whole game. Man some people just dont get it

see what? see if things will be different. If kraft or whoever can do better. You think its all fixed now?
Better than 4-13 with no QB? I say YES.

This is a sad finality of the dynasty years for me.
RKK gave us so much hope when he bought the franchise so many years ago. He, BB and TB had unprecedented success that will go down in NFL lore as the greatest run ever.

Now many are telling me Robert will hand the reins over to Jonathan at the noon press conference. If that is so, it makes perfect sense for Belichick to leave the Patriots now.
Jonathan is not his father. This will be a different Patriots organization with Jonathan in control. Bank that.

Can Bill still coach? Yes and he should if that's what he wants to do. He's an East Coast guy so he'll favor East Coast teams. Atlanta already said they're interested. Tampa Bay would be
very interesting. My pick for him would be the Bills but I'm almost certain any pkg put together by the Krafts will forbid any AFC E team. Imagine what he could do with Miami! The Raiders are interested. There will be others.

I do want him to continue coaching and beat Shula's record. I'll be a fan wherever he goes. I'd love to see him win a SB, too.

Their presser today is must see TV. What they say may be crucial to how Patriots fans end up viewing this move whether they were for or against BB being fired. It's more complicated than just a mutual agreement to part ways imo. Is this a complete reboot from the top down? If so, I see a minimum of 2 years of losing no matter who comes in as GM and HC.

I have long feared the day RKK would hand the team to his son. There's a reason we've heard little from Jonathan in public over the last 24 years.
Hopefully this is not that day.
BB to the Bucs.

The Krafties would literally explode 💣

I'm initially more concerned with who will be shopping for the groceries than who will be calling the X's and O's,

I'm certain it will be two different people but all signs point to having a new HC in place before a GM. If I am a would-be GM prospect, not sure that would sit well with me.

so know that they have 100mil in money and the #3 pick they fucking better make this team better. Guess what bill never had, 100mil and the #3 pick!
I am sooo glad he is the not the one here picking the draft or spending the FA money ...

Bingo. People just look at the score and say well the D sucked. It's much, much more than that.

Not the thread to rehash Brady ...
