So the Patriots have suspended Bennett due to a disagreement over his role...

Defensive end Michael Bennett has been suspended by the New England Patriots for a disagreement over his role. “On Friday, I had a philosophical disagreement with my position coach that has led to my suspension,” Bennett told ESPN’s Jordan Schultz in a statement. “I apologize to my teammates for any distraction this may have caused.” Bennett’s suspension is for one week, NFL Media’s Mike Giardi and Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. Rapoport categorized Bennett’s suspension as “conduct detrimental,” in a tweet. Bennett’s position coach is Patriots defensive line coach Bret Bielema. Bennett is playing just 35.71 percent of Patriots defensive snaps. That’s down from 68.98% with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018. Bennett has five tackles, 2.5 sacks, four quarterback hits and three tackles for loss in six games this season. He’s started just one game. Bennett was not at Patriots practice Tuesday. The Patriots play the New York Jets on Monday night.

reportedly due to a disagreement with the DL coach.

wonder if playing time might be an issue?

Seems that's it...

Meathead who doesn’t “get it”. Go play 80% of the snaps on a 1-5 team. Definitely not the smarter Bennett brother.

Not being there it’s hard to say. We will probably never really know. Still it seemed like before the season he wanted to buy in. Hopefully they get this figured out, but it doesn’t seem like a good start. They guy is still pretty talented right? Isn’t it worth figuring out?

I don't at all mind that he's upset for the lack of playing time, I'd rather have players who want to play versus those that just want to collect a paycheck. It just sounds like he must have took it too far.

35 percent of snaps is still a fair amount. :) maybe it feels like less when the def gets off the field so fast. But still, I really don’t understand the problem here. His statement seems pretty reasonable.

Given the expected injuries through a season it’s reasonable to think he’d be stepping in for someone sooner than later and getting his playing time.

Coaches bullying players. exactly why the Patriots can't build chemistry.
