Hot Dog- Patriots vs Colts Game Thread in Germany 9:30 AM NFLN

That's the one that inspired Bill O'Brien to do his Bobby Cox impression in Jones' ear. Because nowhere in the 100 or so practices they've had together has O'Brien ever had his quarterback work on his Middle Aged Wine Mom Lobbing a Ball Into a Basket in a Survivor Challenge fundamentals.

I particularly liked his intro. Short, but sweet and a reference that only Jerry could come up with. I just called him to tell him
that it was a particularly great column and I know that it took a lot out of him to write it, but that is where we are all at.

--In 1937, Germany sent us the Hindenburg. It took us 86 years, but we finally returned the favor by sending them the 2023 Patriots.

I mean you look at the above.

The snap and he has his pocket to see his options.

Straight away, he has Mondre breaking away in the flat, or there's Pop on the crosser and there is your 1st down straight away, easy.

Or, if feeling adventurous, throw the ball with accuracy to the area squared and the receiver circled has a TD

Again, the options. Lots of them.

Mondre is practically yelling for the ball. Mondre or Pop get the ball and it's 1st down.

It's not the offensive line.
It's not a lack of weapons.
It's not the receivers aren't getting separation.
It's not even the play calling.

I think the saddest part about yesterday, and really the story of the 2023 season, is the waste of a defensive effort, that rolled out Calvin Munson, Myles Bryant and Shaun Wade due to injury, and held the Colts to 10 points.

The defense is special, and has just been wasted in the last two seasons.

It's not any 1 of those things but it is all of those things + the QB.

None of those things are perfect, and some are worse than others - but the fact remains, an average QB would have won some of these games, despite all that.

Edit: An average QB, and better health (and mental issues, apparently) on defense, and this team's at or near the top of the division right now. Instead they're 2-8. It's hard to say what the catalyst actually was, but at this point it doesn't matter, as now it's all spiraling.

That’s why the QB next year is #1 priority to be upgraded. #1 WR after that (top free agent like Tee Higgins, or someone similar). LT and/or RT after that. The Pats have enough guards imo. That TE in Georgia is supposed to be amazing…so maybe consider him in the draft too.

Bowers is more Kelce than Gronk, but he's going to make some team really happy.

This is the play that led to BoB losing his shit on the sideline.

Oof, it even looks like Juju breaks free for a TD at the bottom of the screen. Can't tell if there is another defender in the endzone but it doesn't appear so.

There isn't, he was open on the interception as well in the end zone. Blackmon was in the perfect position for that INT, but he wasn't anywhere near Geiseki or Smith-Schuster on that play, he was fooled on the playaction.
