two things
1. you throw where the hitter was but high over his head not at teh A on the helmet - so the throw I was OK with, location I question
2. You call time that late into an at bat and an ump gives it to you, get the F out of the Batters Box because the pitch is coming.
it is a 1 start suspension he will appeal
yeah but when breaking news happens we are on it like RG on a <s>noob</s> RealDoll
with an appeal it will not be until mid may and the rest will do him goodNot that bothered by the notion of Beckett missing just one start.
Now if the Sox continue to hit as if they're allergic to first base.....
with an appeal it will not be until mid may and the rest will do him good
yes he is a MLB pitch, he knows where it is going at 99.99999% of the timeAre you freaking kidding me!!!!! He is in his windup coming home with the ball, the ump jumps out and screams timeout, and beckett is supposed to be under control and accurate???? What kind fof utter bullshit is this. He had a man on base, why would he throw at him? you think maybe just maybe, that when he is in concentration and you scream time out when he is coming home with the ball, it maybe, just maybe might cause the ball to go somewhere other than where he was throwing it!!! I swear to god if this sticks, this is teh biggest bunch of crap I have heard in a long damn time and I will stop watching this sorry ass sport if its come to this.

the catcher was set up outside and low, that is where the pitch was supposed to go as he went into his windup. so in the tradition of pitchers from years gone by Beckett threw it up and at the batter for calling a late time out, common practice but he knew where that pitch was going in a general area before he threw it and adjusted that after the time out was awarded. So we can conclude one of the following - the ball didn't rise fast enough, he thought abreu was going to be out of the box or he intended to hit him in the A on the helmet.
I have no problem with this suspension
I'm glad Beckett is on the Red Sox, and not on the Yankees. He is a real pain in the arse to the opposition.
