Just heard that Watson has been resigned. Not a great blocker, but can catch a football.
From what I have seen from last season he blocks better the Izzo.Just heard that Watson has been resigned. Not a great blocker, but can catch a football.

I’m not expecting much from Harry. Hopefully he can get a key grab once or twice a game. Well hopefully he can get on the field, but frankly who will he take snaps from? Hopefully not dorrset. Dorrset can play anywhere and is efficient as hell. Haven’t read much on Gordon. Hopefully he’s not banged up too badly. Hopefully Watson helps the run blocking. Well all blocking.
Meyers. Harry is mostly a Y and Z guy...Edelman's and Amendola's routes...he can play X but speed isn't his strong suit. He's a guy who can catch in traffic reliably. He could fill in for Gordon or even Edelman if necessary. I can see him running Gronk's seam routes, too.

The Patriots made their second move to bolster their struggling tight end position Tuesday with Matt LaCosse expected to miss time with an MCL strain.
After bringing back Benjamin Watson Monday, New England signed former New York Jet and Giant Eric Tomlinson to join Ryan Izzo on the team’s tight end depth chart according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Unlike Watson, who is an accomplished pass catcher, Tomlinson, who is listed at 6-foot-6, 253 pounds, is mostly a blocker, filling a need as Izzo has struggled in that area. In 39 career games (25 starts), Tomlinson has 16 career catches for 193 yards and one touchdown. The Patriots play the Jets, who he played 36 of those games for, Monday.
The Klein, Texas native who was undrafted out of UTEP signed first with Philadelphia but didn’t make the Eagles roster out of camp in 2015. He spent most of that season on the Houston Texans practice squad. The Jets signed him to their active roster in November of 2016 and kept him through the 2018 season.
The Giants signed him in the offseason and he spent three games there this season before being cut Sept. 24.
The Patriots will have to make a roster move to accommodate both Watson and Tomlinson. One will fill the roster spot opened by Jakob Johnson going to injured reserve.
Reports say the Pats are adding blocking TE Eric Tomlinson and TE Ben Watson today. If so, LaCosse is likely following Jakob Johnson to IR.

Um...look above. ^^^^
Yeah, well, sometimes simultaneous postings happen.
I just noticed, the Patriots are in the middle of 3 games, 3 games against teams Bill Belichick has an extremely strong past personal NFL connection to: the Giants, the Jets, and the Cleveland Browns. I know Belichick wants to win against everybody, yet these teams and games, I'm guessing, have special meaning to him.
