He really does suck against the run, though.
Always saw him as a speed rusher more than that run stopper kind of player. I think those are important too, but you need a run stopper as well.He really does suck against the run, though.
I assumed BB drafted him to be a 3rd down EDGE guy.He really does suck against the run, though.
Bit of a dickish thing to say. No need for it. Tom came out today and said how grateful he was for BB and he was everything a player could ask for as a coach.I guess there's no love lost between Amendola and Belichick...
"When you see the 'Patriot Way' in the dictionary, it’s got Tom Brady’s picture next to it. None of those coaches caught any passes...Tom Brady is the 'Patriot Way.'
That’s why he’s in the Super Bowl & the Patriots aren’t." - Danny Amendola.
Wow. Who did Danny say that to? A Detroit reporter?I guess there's no love lost between Amendola and Belichick...

This is what I've said before...Stafford played with numerous disgruntled Ex Pats...hence stafford's disdain? i thought about d.a. after patricia

I thank God every day that I played my entire career for the New England Patriots. It gave me so many opportunities that I otherwise would not have had. I got to play in and win a Super Bowl in my home state of Louisiana, on the same field where I had won a state championship in high school. That was something special. I played in five Super Bowls and won three rings. The Patriot Way ain’t about nothing but winning, man. That’s it.

Was that a knock on the Pats or the coaches?Jeez, I didn't realize Danny was so bitter about the Pats.
Which is weird since he signed with the Lions when Fatty Matty was the coach.Jeez, I didn't realize Danny was so bitter about the Pats.

He mentioned the coaches though not the team, I think of team as players and coaches. I mean I am not putting words in his mouth. I didnt hear him say it or didnt hear him explain anything. I just wonder if his issues wereBoth it seemed like.
I listened to the interview. I know some things get taken out of context, but, nope, and not only did he mean it, he went on from there. That was not the end of the conversation, he said a lot of things. He did not seem mad at anyone, just giving his thoughts from how a player would feel. He made a good point about Detroit, when they tried to bring the Patriot way there. Patriot way does not mean anything unless you win. If you dont win, players will not buy into it. All players are that way. There is nothing out there that makes players better or worse. If you are winning, then anything that is being done is looked at as the right way. If you dont win, then its not. Danny said what he said and he is allowed to say that and I am sure he is not the only one that feels that way.As much as I hate to see comments like Amandola's, as far as I am concerned, he worked for the Patriots; I have not.
Same thing with any Boston athlete. Ray Allen shot his mouth off far too much for my liking after he left the Celtics. But know what? Danny Ainge tried to trade him MULTIPLE TIMES. I wouldn't have liked that, were I Ray Allen.
So I will never enjoy reading these types of comments but perhaps, on occasion, the individual making them has a legitimate point/gripe.
In this case, it could also be that Amendola was simply going out of his way to be complimentary of Brady but took an unintended swipe at BB or the whole Patriots organization. But again, he worked there.
