That's about the only thing that makes sense -- that it simply wasn't as bad as it looked, even if everybody could see his ankle bend in a very bad way and that he was in a ton of pain. I seem to recall the phrase "screaming in pain" tossed around like it was a fact, but now I dunno if somebody exaggerated. Or worse, made shit up based on the fact it was totally plausible.
FWIW, I think the reason we've been seeing Mac throwing a lot of picks is that the kid is taking his role as Team Leader No. 1 a little too literally and he's, at times, trying to make plays where there are none to be had. He doesn't have to carry the entire roster on his back. He's a 2nd year guy who shouldn't be expected to have an instant answer to every situation. The guy is pressing a little
too hard and I'm hoping a little time off could help him come to the same conclusion.
I see the ridiculous practice appearance as possibly more evidence that he's trying to show the guys he's the Unbreakable Fearless Leader, but if he carries that too far he's going
to make it worse for the team, not better. Help out in the QB room all you want, but don't run on that ankle until both you and the Doctors think it's OK. This isn't something you
can gut out.
