Hey, she wasn't stupid. It's not her I blame. However, for her to make it past sign up and to actual tryouts, that has to go to the Pats for allowing that PT Barnum-esque show to happen.

Why is there any "blame"?

If my wife had enough confidence to give it a go, I'd drive her there myself.

Maybe as you approach my age, you'll have a slightly different understanding. We're not our parents. IMO, today's 50 is yesterday's 30. Many of us are in far better shape than many of today's youngsters. I see plenty of young girls and guys walking around and know that they are just a few years short of moose-dom.

My wife and I intend on staying active until our bodies quit. Perhaps either of us will try something that is supposed to be reserved for youth. Screw them. I'm not going to the retirement home just because I'm supposed to. And if I feel better about myself in the process, then maybe that means the kids will have to put up with us for a few more years.

I'm not saying all this to suck up to the fine MILFs we have on this board. I've got my own MILF at home and I sometimes have trouble keeping up with her.

But I have an issue with the notion that someone is being allowed to go out there just because of a potential lawsuit. It's her body, her ego, her life...let her do with it what she wants. No one has been harmed in any way.

Not everyone has a get-rich-quick-by-suing mentality. Whatever this woman's motives were, and I'm sure they weren't a lawsuit at the end of a rainbow, who cares? If she has the confidence, motivation, and support of her friends and family to do something so competitive, kudos to her. She knows she's not going to make it, but it's something she probably wanted to do when she was 25 and couldn't for whatever reason and decided to fulfill her dream of trying out.

And you know what, I don't care what she looks like, that woman has guts.

I see a woman confident with herself (thus making her more attractive to me) who is trying to do something despite the odds against her, I believe in her heart she knows she will not make the squad but at least she is trying, putting out an effort.

Hell I've been wanting to get into a hockey league and play again.
