Random Thoughts

People can sure be sheep sometimes, can't they?

So, so true.

I see this all the time in London. When there is a delay on buses or the Tube (underground train), there is inevitably one close behind, which is half empty. Thankfully, everyone gets on the first one.

Also, if you find yourself on a platform and everyone is bunched up, don't necessarily assume they know where the emptiest parts of the train are.

So much stuff like this makes no sense to me. I find it really easy to do my own thing and sometimes wonder if I'm a bit neuro-diverse. That and having odd hobbies and obsessions on social media..

Totally random thing. I've recently switched from cafetière (French press) to one-cup filter. I really think it helps to bring out the flavour of the coffee.

One thing I do a lot more now is to buy beans from specialist providers and grind them fresh (something which I strongly recommend). It's a fun ritual to take the time to make a brew.

I also discovered after he passed, wished I could’ve seen him live in concert. His nine inch nail song he covered (hurt) is amazing. The video is spooky. You would’ve thought he knew him and his wife would pass in the year following its release.

Not a country fan for the most part but I grew up with this stuff.

But Johnny is different. The Man In Black baby.

Just incredible that even rockers like Disturb's singer David Draiman idolize him.

Something I learned from a coffee expert is to always use a paper filter rather than the metal permanent ones. The paper absorbs most of the bitter oils to give a bright clean coffee taste with no bitterness.

Good point. There's an interesting guy on YouTube called James Hoffman who goes into some details on this stuff. He also points out that you need to wash away some of the paper taste of the filter beforehand.

Yer a horrible Brit, as are many of my Brittish friends. Where's yer damn tea? :)

Most 2020 story ever:
this is my deck right now, and still coming down. plow guy is stuck at the bottom of my driveway. i haven't had power all day and i had to get out to get my cats to a boarding place earlier than i thought because they called and said they were closing early. i had to make sure they were ok and don't freeze to death, so i left before the plow guy got here. so nowwwwww i am sitting in the vet pkg lot and can't go home because plow guy broke an axle at the bottom of my driveway. and since i had to get to the vet quick(there were 4 accidents in the 5 mi drive so barely made it) i didn't bother pulling down my garage door, figuring i'd be back in a half hour and time was if the essence. so when i do get home, if ever, my garage will be full of snow. and for some reason none of the formatting or image options are working, they are all greyed out.

UNSUNG HEROES OF THE 80s!! Today we honor you, Cousin Eddie. You surprised Clark and Ellen with an unannounced visit. You made the season brighter by parking your RV in the driveway. You even kidnapped Clark's boss and shamed him in to reinstating Christmas bonuses. And even though Clark and Ellen paid for it, we're sure you got Clark a great gift. Something...really nice.👌 For all this and more we honor you, Cousin Eddie...our unsung hero of the 80s! Now go check your shitter.

THE single most important thing for quality strong coffee without it being bitter is the temperature of the water.

That is all.
