Steeler Fans...

So this is what I have put up with since forth grade...second letter down "Sideline Chatter"

WTF?

This guy even ruins my SI letters to the editor.

:grrr:

It's interesting how fans can overlook their own team's 'crimes and misdemeanors' while pointing a finger at a hated rival. No mention of his own team's steroid era or of his QB's well documented sexual deviancy being tolerated by his team's owner. You are a beacon of light, PFR. I sympathize with your plight.

Half their legends are dead because they roided up so bad, but hey we had a camera. Brady had a kid out of wedlock but their QB is out rapin chicks. Seems completely logical to me.

So many are so accepting of this one little fact, at least in this area that I am in

Floors me

LOL they hold the coaches to higher personal standards...the Steelers had an OL coach who e-mailed porn to the entire NFL league office and they didn't fire that guy. At my old job, you would probably get fired for something like that.

I remember them losing picks for salary cap violations.. tons of fines to people like Harrison (they should let him go if they're so high and mighty), and of course the rapist violated the personal conduct policy on a couple occasions. They were also fined and lost draft picks in the 70's for practicing in pads when they weren't supposed to.... to go along with the steroids use.

N.F.L. Commissioner Paul Tagliabue said league rules were violated three times -- when the Panthers contacted Capers; when the Steelers granted permission to talk to him, and when the Panthers and Capers engaged in discussions.

"We accept the fine," the Steelers' president, Dan Rooney, said. "It's behind us."

Yea, he's a saint..

And now this soundbite from Jerome 'Einstein' Harrison

Linebacker James Harrison, who has drawn $100,000 in fines this season for vicious hits, took aim directly at commissioner Roger Goodell’s enhanced crackdown of illegal tackles.
"I don't want to hurt nobody. I don't want to step on nobody's foot or hurt their toe. I don't want to have no dirt or none of this rubber on this field fly into their eye and make their eye hurt,” Harrison said during the Steelers’ session inside Cowboys Stadium. “I just want to tackle them softly on the ground, and if you all can, we'll lay a pillow down where I'm going to tackle them, so they don't hit the ground too hard . . . Mr. Goodell."

Can someone please explain to me how Patriots tackle Vince Wilfork made it onto the cover of SI simply for weighing 325 pounds, while the UConn women's basketball team had just completed a 90-game winning streak?
Kale Rogers, Hampton, Conn.

Do you really need it explained? :shake:

Dear Kale,

Simpy put sex sells and Vince has the bigger boobs, unless you count head coach Gino.

Thanks.

The vitriol that some Steelers fans spew toward the Patriots is easily chalked up to the fact that NE has owned their asses for about a decade now. The Pats are 2-0 in Championship games at Heinz, and if memory serves, they've beaten the Patriots once in the last decade, save 2008 when Brady was out.

I respect the Steelers as an organization... it's hard to say they're not the NFL's most storied franchise. But it's funny how they tend to react to us as Pats fans.

Correct, there was football before 1967

Not if you ask Steeler fans. While participating in a Packer board, the common refrain is "6 OF TEH SOOPER BOWELS, ONLY 3 FOR YINZ!!!1!!!eleventy!!!!" and then when it is pointed out that the Packers have 12 NFL Championships, the reply is "BUT DEZE OTHER TEAMS WASN'T AROUND BACK THEN NO FAIIIIIRRRRR!!!!!"

To which the usual reply is, "Well, ya all's team has been around in the NFL since 1933. Why didn't you win any before the 70s???"

Then crickets.

Good times.

Dear Kale,

No one cares about women's basketball.

Sincerely,
-Everyone
