The Colt fans are celebrating the huge win today by

  • DeAndre Hopkins leads all receivers with 20 targets 15 or more yards downfield, but just four have been complete. On throws 15 or more yards, Ryan Mallett is 5-22 while Brian Hoyer is 5-18.
  • Mallett is 13th in the league in pass attempts (137), but 24th in completions (71).
  • Houston averages the most plays per game in the first (37.8 plays) and second half (41.5) in the league.
  • Hopkins’ first half splits for the season: 9 receptions, 106 yards on 23 targets. Second Half: 22 receptions, 304 yards on 37 targets.
  • Per Pro Football Focus, Hopkins has already played 48 more snaps than the next-highest receiver (Keenan Allen) and run 38 more routes than the next closest non-Houston receiver (Jeremy Maclin).
  • In his first game back, Arian Foster led the Texans backfield in snaps (33) and touches (11).
  • Last week, Matt Hasselbeck was the first quarterback over 40 to throw a touchdown since Mark Brunell in 2011.
  • T.Y. Hilton has gone over 75 receiving yards in five of six career games against Houston with six touchdowns.
  • Donte Moncrief has had 19-23 percent of the Colts targets in every game this season.
  • These two teams are the worst at first half scoring with a rate of 14 percent of their possessions. Houston has scored on four of 29 first half drives while Indianapolis has scored on just three of 22.

This will be the 1st game Arian Foster will be 100% healthy this year so I'm not so sure Bill O'Brien doesn't follow the Pats' game play from the AFCCG last year and run the ball down their throats. Regardless, Hoyer and Mallett need to rest their arms since they have 95 incompletions in 209 passes over 4 games. 209 is an NFL record for passes over 4 games, btw.

I would love to see Houston hammer them on the ground. But it looks as if Luck will play which actually may be a plus for Houston especially if his arm is not 100 percent as there should be some ducks for them to intercept.

It was amazing to me how much better the offense seemed to run with Hasselbeck. He distributed the ball better, played clean. I mean the guy is 40 and can't play anymore really but he is smart enough to know to get the ball into his play makers hands and not force anything. Seems Luck has yet to learn this.

Indy re-signed Josh Johnson. Not sure if it's due to Luck's health or Hasselbeck missing practice due to illness.

Probably both. That will be hysterical if Johnson plays. :toast:

Luck and Hasselbeck are officially listed as questionable. If Houston can't win this game at home, then they're looking at another top 5 pick next spring.

Gawd its going to be a fun couple of weeks ahead...

So who is the top WR in next year's draft that they will be taking with the top 5 pick? lol.

Colts-Jags was a story of the kicking game.

The biggest reason the Colts won that game vs the Jags was Pat McAfee's 57 yd punt with no return at the end of regulation from his own 16 yd line. Normally you'd expect the other team to get the ball at their own 40 but that kick put Jax at their own 27 with only 56 seconds left in the game. That 13 extra yds McAfee tacked on to that punt was huge for the Colts since Jax kicker Jason Myers missed the 53 yd FG attempt not once but twice. A 40 FG would have been a lot easier and likely made by Myers.

But Myers also missed a 43 yd attempt in OT so the Colts big advantage in the kicking game was tied to the failures of Jax kicker Jason Myers rather than Vinatieri's heroics.

Vinatieri made FGs from 54 and 32 in regulation then made his 27 yd attempt in OT to win the game.

Without Luck, the Colts offense was less impressive than an improving young Jacksonville offense with Bortles. It’s not a stretch to say Jacksonville’s defense now appears to be better than the Indianapolis defense, too. But vs Jax, the Colts had big advantages at punter and kicker and that was the difference in this game.

Hasselbeck is starting tonight in place of Luck according to Schefter

JJ Watt must be licking his chops.

Houston needs to run the football tonight. They are having serious issues moving the football, and for the life of me don't understand why they have thrown the ball so much. I understand last week because they were behind BIG early. If there's a game where they should be able to run, tonight should be it
