Things That Piss Me Off:

Pats were on CBS here. I pay a metric shit-ton for the Sunday Ticket. Had to watch the end of the Ravens game, missed the first drive of our game. To top it off, ALL of our games have been on regular TV. Next week's game too. At least I haven't been stuck watching the Steelers every week.

You would think the folks at DirectTV would comprehend that the reason subscribers of NFL Sunday Ticket, um.... subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket is to watch out of market games from start-to-finish?

But maybe I'm just thinking foolishly.

You would think. I hope that everyone bitching about it in here sends email or calls to let them know.

I just sent them a bitchy email..here you go:

I pay A LOT of money for Sunday ticket so I DO NOT miss a MINUTE of the Patriots. If the game is being shown on a local affiliate that decides to go OVER with another game or SWITCH away from the game I pay a small fortune to see I EXPECT it to be available on the Sunday Ticket channel. Pats fans around the country missed a FULL 7 minutes of our game yesterday because you did NOT coordinate this properly. Not only is this unacceptable but you will be libel for FALSE ADVERTISING because we didn't miss it because we "didn't HAVE Sunday Ticket"like your ads say but because you don't have it together.

Additionally? TRAIN your customer service agents about the products you have. I called when the game was taken off CBS and she was CLUELESS about the "Blackouts" and local coverage rules.

Please fix this.

Had this problem 3 weeks ago. I was going on and on about how the game wasn't on. The twit kept telling me it WAS on. I asked her the one question that made her STFU. I asked "What viewing area are you looking at? Because I'm located at X, not Y." She had no answer. The entire Dish/Direct crap is just that. Crap.

It isn't rocket science either to train them. It has to be one of their biggest money makers so train them and also GET the schitt together and use the channels. THey switched to it on 714 pretty fast after the network left there is NO reason they couldn't start the game there as well if the network broadcast of the first game is going over.

Good e-mail!

Customer service is a lost art..

My concern is with fraudulent advertising. Get SUNDAY TICKET to watch ALL the games. My ass! It's the same as cable or that damned converter box. All you get is local stuff. And if a blowout begins, they switch to another game.

WTF?

NO thanks. It is why I would give u0p my social life for the year if I had to to get Sunday Ticket.
Don't have that option. Paid Directv for setting up Sunday Ticket for me only to find out the building is turned the wrong way and we can't get line of sight.
FML. Can't even get Fios TV because of some Comcast exclusivity thing.

I have DirecTV and when the game got switched I started to hit boiling point...but 3 minutes later it came back on and I had only missed 1 play. So they didn't mess it up in my area.

THen your CBS affiliate was NOT covering the Pats game.

Not sure DirecTv's messup yesterday had anything to do with what the local affiliates were doing...and none of what they did seemed to be consistent at all. In Annihilus's market, the local affiliate was NOT covering the Pats game and they cut away to the Bills/Jets game anyway on DTV 714. It came back two minutes later (thankfully).

It has everything to do with what games are on the local affiliate Anni. That is THE reason it isn't on the Direct Tv channel. It may not have been consistenly applied but that is why we missed the START of the game.

Yeah my main point of contention(and I THINK mds) has more to do with missing the first 7 minutes because CBS still have the VIkings game on and when a game is covered by your local affiliate you CANNOT watch on 714. Since the synched the END of the game pretty well and went to the Pats game after the local affiliate left it shows that they can in theory, do it for the start of a game then take it off once the local affiliate goes to the game.

Yeah that sucks. I can't get cable where I live..but think that is the better side of things ..sorry mate.

That's just it and the entire point: it wasn't consistent. Annihilus's local affiliate was showing the same game that the rest of you guys that were having the problem were seeing and the Pats game was on DTV 714 right from the first snap.
