Boy, they're full of piss and vinegar. After the way we played against Green Bay and the fact they beat the Fins, they have some swagger and think they're going to win the game. ;)

Too bad this didn't come before Christmas day so it could be ruined ROFL

The hatred those guys on those boards have for the Pats, and even more so for us fans, is almost unhealthy.

I normally hate all the teams in our division, but for the past 9 or so years I have not really hated Buffalo, so much as pitied them.

Sad. :coffee:

I like how they tell me to "please return to participate in the forums after the ban has elapsed." Like I'll be 181 years old in the year 2158.

The Bills have really looked good for most of their games, and I don't think they will play any differently vs NE. Thankfully, last night's game served as a wake-up for the Patriots, and they will come out with guns blazing. Glad it's a one o'clock game, too.

They're a very schizo and crazy bunch of fans. They live in a really shitty place that doesn't offer much other than snow, cold and pro sports. They are oh so proud of the Bills team that went to and lost 4 straight SBs and yet loathe the fans of any team with a SB victory because we can rub it in their faces, and the Pats especially as they have suffered so long and hard at the hands of the Pats.

They have a real love-hate thing for their team because it has sucked for so long. And while there will always be some that defend Ralph Wilson, as time goes on more and more of them realize the franchise will never stand a chance as long as he is alive. He and Al Davis are 2 of the worst owners in all sports, they have zero grip on how to run a modern franchise no matter how brilliant and crucial they were to the league long ago.

I posted occasionally on their official board for years. There were some really knowledgeable fans that would discuss the games and rivalry with some amount of rational thought.

Got banned there in 2007 after their players laid down by 5 minutes into the game and we just absolutely trashed them by some huge score I can't remember at this point.

Don't like them much as a whole. And I seem to remember several times over the years where Pats fans who went to games in Buffalo were beat up in the parking lots after the a Bills loss.

There was a time when they used to 'own" the Pats on a regular basis, too... I guess they dont' like it when the cleats are on the other foot. :coffee:

I had some fun as a friendly visitor at a Buffalo Board for a while, when some of them were oh so pleased to have finally acquired a franchise quarterback... Drew Bledsoe. I was on the leading edge of an intense discussion of Drew. It took them a while, but eventually about everyone came to see my perspective, even if they had a point that everyone they have had since hasn't been as good.

But, yah, it hasn't been fun over there of late. It does make one appreciate the Kraft family, though.

Everything about this matchup screams "close game" except this post I made prior to the first Buffalo game.

Did some digging and I noticed a trend. Here are the margins of victory in the NE/Buff games from 2004-present (first game/second)

2004 - 14/23
2005 - 5/28
2006 - 2/22
2007 - 31/46
2008 - 10/13
2009 - 1/7

Not one time did NE win by more the first time they faced Buffalo and half the time they win by a single score. Outside of the 2007 season, the only time NE really dominated Buffalo in their first game was in 2008. Even the 2004 team had their hands full until Tedy's strip sack and Seymour's rumbling TD return.

FWIW, home/away has no bearing. The three closest opening games were all at home, as were the two most dominant opening victories.

The long and short is, the odds don't favor a blowout until December 26.

Buffalo has only had one single score loss to NE in their second game during the streak. I suppose an optimistic Bills fan could look at that and see a declining trend, but I see a 2 TD victory and the clinching of the #1 seed.

All fan bases are different and all are alike. All have good and horrid.

Anyway. imo fwiw, my experience at buffalorange0 (8 years} has been outstanding. Of course their are dinks their, but on the whole, smart, fair, open-minded and fun.

I like 'em.

Cheers, BostonTim

Let me take a wild guess here, they called us "Cheaters" :shake:

The Pats better be ready after last night's game it should be a wake up call to get going early.

November 7, roughly 12:00 pm: a somewhat tipsy MD and friend leave Panini's and head toward Cleveland Browns Stadium. Confident, cocky, and feeling boisterous, we arrogantly taunt the oohi-ans whose team is to be served up on a platter to our 6-1 squad. We come across three fairly grizzled, hammered oohi fans. We tell them we are much more concerned with the Steelers next week, as they may be able to come within 2 scores of us. After exchanging a hearty round of "f*ck the Steelers", one Browns fan turns to me and says "we're going to kick your ass today. Don't get me wrong, you guys will beat Pittsburgh's ass, we'll beat the Jets, and you'll be fine, but today, the Browns are gonna beat your ass." I laughed at him. That still sticks with me.

Moral of the story? I'm not taking Buffalo lightly. Hopefully we got a wake-up call from the cheeseheads. Because Buffalo could beat us if we don't focus.

Reading a few of their posts makes me think that the more things change, the more they stay the same. The Bills are Captain Ahab and we are their great white whale and it's been that way for a long time.

A few years ago some Bills fan showed up here and posted a half-assed poem about how they would kick our asses, so having plenty of spare time and wanting to seek my cheap revenge I wrote this little tribute to Bills fans everywhere. Imagine the words being sung to the Gordon Lightfoot classic "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald".

And yes, I really did need to get a life.

The Wreck of the Fans From Wanekah

The legend lives on from Lake Erie on down
To the big misty falls of Niagara
The town on her shore is like an ugly old whore
Whose customers need some Viagra

With a kickoff at one – yes, the season’s begun
They jumped into a beatup Suburban
They were bound for a bar --took a case in the car
With some weed and a bottle of bourbon

They wasted little time and began to get primed
As they left from Wanekah for Eden
To a sports bar named Monk’s where they planned to get drunk
And see the Bills give New England a beating

In that dusty old hall stood a barman named Paul
His skin was all cracked and like leather
He lit up a smoke and wise-cracked a joke
How the Bills would be worse than the weather

Old John took offense—and began to get tense
He’d been a Bills fan since Jack Kemp was starting
Then Joe cooled him down and bought the next round
While in the corner Big Mikie stood farting

They had a glaze in their eyes-- in their guts butterflies
As Mcgee grabbed the kick and went flyin’
But, the Pats special teams killed his highlight film dreams
And buried him at the ten yard line

“Go get them J.P.!” Yelled a fired-up Mikie
“Throw us long sufferin’ Bills fans a nice bone!”
But, soon they felt sick as he fired up a pick
And Assante waltzed into the end zone

Oh, the Bills had flown down to Foxboro town
With revenge in their eyes and their faces
They had hopes the new crew would be able to prove
That they weren’t like those former disgraces

But as the halftime whistle blew there wasn’t much fans could do
As the Pats were on course for a big rout
The new guys it seems resembled Donahoe’s teams
And they proceeded to drink their poor brains out

Does any man know where the love of God goes?
When the Bills turn the minutes to hours
Scott Norwood missed right but they loved them in spite
And they prayed to the heavenly powers

Then John blew his lunch and Joe had a hunch
That soon he would join him in hurling
Their team it was true was a bone to be chewed
When the Pats from New England scored early

Soon the barman chimed in “fellas the stock is getting thin”
And “I don’t think I can serve you another”
So they called him some names as the Bills went down in flames
And they questioned the past of his Mother

Now booted from Monk’s – that sad band of drunks
Stumbled out as the final was posted
A goose egg for their crew while the Pats had forty two
Not at all what Takeo had boasted

The more things change --the more they stay the same
And their poor fevered brains were a-buzzin’
Last place had been booked and their quarterback looked
Just like Sandler’s handicapped cousin

They hopped back in their ride filled with empties inside
And prepared to go home in that wrecker
But they never returned and their fate is unlearned
Did a crash claim those fans from Wanekah?

They might have gone south off to sunnier climes
Or may have turned north for the border
Canada still steams just like a young man’s dreams
Tempting flight for a Bills fan’s disorder

They might have rolled their ship on the median strip
Hit a pine tree while holding their peckers
But all that remained were the memories and the names
Of three drunken fans from Wanekah

In a windswept old spot on the big parking lot
Of the Bison’s suburban gridiron
The tailgaters there would all solemnly swear
They could hear echoed ghost voices cryin’

So they’d put down their beers and listened close to hear
And they all swore that soon they'd get sober
Cause the words they all knew were the drunken fan crew
Sayin' “We’ll be back for the game in October"
