Cops: Man left 3 kids in freezing car while he was in court

AP | 01.15.15 | 9:33 AM

NEWTON, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man is facing child endangerment charges after police say he left his three children — ages 5, 3 and 9 months — inside a car for about an hour in freezing temperatures while he was in court.

Newton police Lt. Bruce Apotheker says a passer-by notified police about the children after spotting them Tuesday afternoon inside a car in a municipal lot near Newton District Court.

Police say it was 23 degrees outside and the unlocked car was not running. The children were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The 38-year-old Framingham man, whose name was not made public, told authorities he was only inside the courthouse for 12 minutes. Police estimate he was inside for an hour.

He'll be summoned to court."

Some people don't deserve to have kids. Why not have the kids inside the courthouse.

Am I the only one wondering why John Fox would leave Denver and show up for his Chicago presser wearing an Orange tie?

Definately a random thought.

He didn't have to upgrade his suit and tie colors much. There is orange in the Bears C logo.

10 Health Benefits of Whiskey

All the health benefits of whiskey you wish you knew earlier… you’re welcome:

Whiskey is one of the best alcohols you can drink. Not only is it the least likely to give you a hangover, but it’s also one of the healthiest around. You’ll find that having a few fingers of whiskey every week can help to:

1. Avoid Weight Gain – Whiskey is a low-calorie alcohol, especially when compared to the many cocktails, beers, and wines you can find on supermarket shelves. You can drink a tumbler of whiskey without worrying about packing on the pounds thanks to its low sugar content.

2.Boost Heart Health – Did you know that drinking whiskey can actually make your heart healthier? Aside from wine and dark beer, what other alcohols can claim that? Not only will whiskey reduce the risk of blood clots, but it will lower your stroke and heart attack risk as well. The antioxidants in whiskey stop cholesterol from clogging your arteries, and it can even boost your good cholesterol.

3.Fight Cancer -- Whiskey is rich in antioxidants, particularly one known as ellagic acid. This antioxidant stops your body’s DNA from coming in contact with cancer-causing compounds, reducing the risk of carcinogens forming. It can also protect your body from chemotherapy, and will reduce oxidation in your body.

4.Improve Brain Health – A study conducted in 2003 discovered that drinking whiskey reduces your risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia. If you’re worried that your brain is slowing down in your old age, it’s time to start drinking whiskey to protect your very important organ from damage.

5.Reduce Stroke Risk -- Whiskey not only helps to prevent cholesterol from building up in your arteries, but it can actually help to get rid of any cholesterol present in your blood vessels at the moment. It will also help to relax the walls of your arteries, ensuring that your blood can flow without obstruction. One of the greatest health benefits of whiskey is the reduced stroke risk, and we can all drink to that!

6.Fight Stress – Stress can cause a wide range of health problems in the human body, but thankfully we’ve got whiskey to kick stress’ butt! Whiskey helps to reduce anxiety and stress, calming your nerves and helping to relax your body. It can increase circulation throughout your body, providing your organs with fresh, oxygenated blood. A serving or two of whiskey can help to calm stressed nerves effectively!

7.Boost Memory — The antioxidants in whiskey can help to improve the health of your brain, and the circulation-boosting effects of this alcohol will boost your memory at the same time. The same properties that help to reduce your risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia will also keep your brain active and young.

8.Aid in Digestion -- Did you know that whiskey has long been drunk as a digestive aid? It was usually consumed after a meal, helping to relax the body after eating heavy food. It can also help to shut down your appetite, preventing you from overeating. Best of all, it will aid in digestion, reducing your risk of stomach ache or indigestion after a heavy meal.

9.Lengthen Lifespan -- Whiskey is loaded with healthy antioxidants, and these nutrients can help to increase your lifespan by reducing your risk of disease. By protecting your body against disease, you prevent the slow breakdown of important cells in your body–thereby helping you to live longer.

10.Great for Diabetics -- Whiskey is a zero-carb alcohol, so you can drink it without worrying about the effect it will have on your blood sugar levels. If you suffer from diabetes, a finger or two of whiskey will be the right choice for you!

Im heading to the Packy.

2 hour delay at work. Had time to get the kids ready, get myself ready, shovel the driveway, clear off the cars, shovel again, drive to work in really sh*tty conditions, and get in at exactly 10:00 am.

Just got a text from botp, he's working from home. :spock:

This place is a joke. They closed the home office on Monday due to the weather. There are a few of us who work 4 10 hour days to get a 3rd day off. Yesterday (my day off) am email goes out saying we either have to make up the 2 hours for Monday or use vacation time. Now never have we EVER had to make up that time before including last week when we were closed on Tuesday. Also I have had home office closure days fall on my day off and still came in for my 40 hours. The thing that is most bothersome about this is they told us this ON MY DAY OFF instead of on Tuesday so I didn't have the option at that point to do 8 hour days instead. I also wouldn't of had to take another vacation hour to leave an hour early today. It's effing bullshit and just adds to more reasons why I can't get out of here fast enough.

Jeez, TBL. Your employer sucks.

I believe it is only our department so I don't wanna actually blame the company. It's not or fault that they shut down the home office orrrr that we do not have laptops to do our work from home. And really they need to be consistent. One week you don't charge us the next you do

Fortunately, I keep a nice, big bottle around. :coffee:

If you believe all the statistical data with all the ED advertisements- shouldn't there be a lot of women that are, umm, out of sorts?

And alternatively if a guy has ED and knows there is a pill for that why would there be a need for multiple ads per football game?

And finally ever notice those ads, take x pill to solve y problems. Side affects may cause blindness. Huh- what- trade a rash for blindness? ????????????

Sometimes the "cure" is worse than the "disease"...

So I came back from India and at the moment I want nothing more to do with Facebook yoga as I call it. It's so full of "love and light" and happy unicorns blarg. Is that what people who are paying attention to life think life really is instead of chaos that can be fun and messes with you all the time? Child, please.

I do a dance class on Saturday mornings and it came to me and I ask all of your input. What if when you search he depths of your soul to see who you are , you realize you are a but of an asshole and that's what you are tired of fighting? I mean those of you that really know in IRL know I would do anything for my friends and family but yeah. What say ye?:)

Well...

I think everyone is an asshole now and then. And by asshole I mean being occasionally non-compliant with someone else's wishes, especially when they are in conflict with your own. Everyone has the right to refuse to carry the torch in someone else's crusade.

I'm not a big fan of drama, so if that's your style, I'm out.

I'm also a great listener, but everything I hear is deliberately deleted from my memory bank. I don't sublet my head space to anyone.
