I think Buffalo can hold their own against a lot of teams. Not too many teams have an accurate quick release QB with complimentary capable football players able and willing to catch.
So the question is: Who are the top tier teams in the AFC. I would rank them as follows:Buffalo is like a mid-major.
They will do well, and I think they'll ultimately make the playoffs, but I don't think they'll compete with the top tier teams.
Miami may be bad, need a little bigger sample, but Philbin may not make it to Thanksgiving the way this is going.
I don't think Buffalo stopped being legit because they lost to the SB champs.
So the question is: Who are the top tier teams in the AFC. I would rank them as follows:
1. Patriots
2. Broncos (offense is suspect but good D)
3. Cincinnati (good D and some offensive weapons)
4. San Diego (they have the QB and offensive weapons)
5. Buffalo (might put Pitt here but they lost Big Ben)
6. Pitt or KC
Who takes the place of SD? Kansas City? Alex Smith doesn't impress me much. Aside from Jamaal, KC seems weaker than SD.I Dunno. Look like 3rd best team in their division, in last place at 1-2. They need to convince me before they are 4th best on my list.
Cheers, BostonTim
It appears Tyrod learned something from the Pats loss: step up in the pocket. He made the mistake of backtracking and sliding to the side when the Pats rushed wide...that spelled doom. The O line provided a nice pocket yesterday. If there is a silver lining to the Pats loss it is that he learned a great deal.Taylor looked like a pro bowl QB yesterday . What really helped is he had no pressure on him most of the game.

I can't put Seattle in the top tier yet. They just haven't proved anything IMO.Those are my AFC top tier.
NFC Seattle, Green Bay and Arizona.

Overall, the AFC looks pretty weak with the exception of Pats and Broncs (distant second). Pats are on fire right now.
NFC:
1. Arizona
2. Green Bay
3. Atlanta
4. Cowgirls?
This is a weird year of football. But like we've said all along, it's still very early.

This. They beat up one of theworst teams in the league, looked like shit doing it, and all the 12 flags are proudly being flown while everyone out here yells "TH BEST DEFENSE IN THE LEAGUE IS BACK!"
****ing newbs.
What a dumpster fire of a game yesterday from Miami. They have folks thinking Buffalo is legit again. smh.
