Why Peyton Winning Doesn't Really Bother Me

actually BOTH SuperBowl wins, Manning the Quarterback did not help the team to the victory, he lucked out the defense won it for him.

Yeah, but in the 2006 AFC Championship game, Peyton dismantled the Pats in the 2nd half to get to the Super Bowl. Our defense was fried, but he still did it.

At the rate he's going, Peyton will have to play for 20 more years to get 4 SB rings.

It was poor in the SB against the Saints. He had everything he could have wanted, Jeff Saturday and the O Line along with Garcon, Clarke and Wayne and a defense that had the likes of Freeney and Mathis in their prime.

Wait, why is Peyton Manning the only Bronco with a defective championship hat?

Congratulations Denver Broncos, you're Super Bowl 50 suoᴉdɯɐɥɔ!

Here is a photo of Peyton Manning celebrating his second Super Bowl.
Look closer ...
Why does Peyton Manning have a defective Super Bowl hat?
See, it's just his, too.
Every other Broncos player got a normal hat. Every player, except Peyton.
This is so weird! Why aren't more people talking about this? W H A T D O E S I T M E A N ?

They had to custom make one to fit his giant head, and screwed up.

my point is Manning "Never had a defense" is the saying but both wins he played like dogdung and won.

and lets be honest the 2006 NFC team was beatable - or the Beers sucked!!!

but his defense scored for him in that game to seal it.

The 2006 Bears were one of the shittiest SB teams since Brady/Manning entered the league. Ironically they kept it closer than Peyton's Broncos did against Seattle :coffee:

No doubt. I'm not arguing that many Peyton lovers make excuses for his bad postseason performances and that in the two SB games his teams won, he wasn't a factor.

But, I also think lots of Pats fans are too obsessed with degrading him. Peyton was one of the all time regular season studs for a long time. He did have some solid postseason performances. He took apart the Pats in the 2nd half of the 2006 AFCG to get to that Super Bowl.

Tom Brady has been WAY better than Peyton in postseason games and Super Bowls. Nearly all the national media that ranks quarterbacks recognizes that.

We don't need to have a complex about it.

Yeah but my hate is based on the collective works of Peyton, I just do not like the man

to me peyton did many things wrong,

1. not a great guy who destroyed the life of a woman for standing up to his sexual assault.

2. not a good teammate despite claiming to be one. Protection problems!?

3. Leaked info to the media, either himself, or thru Papa Manning over the years.

4. Hid behind his wife when commonsense tells you that any man who was going to Germany to get treatment, not allowed here, would more likely than not by taking HGH that he had shipped to his wife. Clemens if Manning, Manning is Clemens.

there is a lot of other reasons but I do not like Manning the QB, most recent being last night and his advertising his Bud Distribution Centers with the fake, "kiss my wife" line I never recall hearing before and "drink a lot of Budweiser".

Just for the record, like Mikie, I hated Peyton when he was a Vol.
I hated him when he was at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans. :D

If Peyton was subjected to the hits Brady or Newton were (though in reality, he'd be dead), the Competition Committee would be busy Napolianising rules again this offseason.

He's had four...FOUR very underwhelming Super Bowls. He prepares the way he prepares because he knows his own weaknesses and one of those weaknesses is his nerves. A person can mentally prepare all he wants, but it's impossible to duplicate the pressure of a Super Bowl and that is clear in his four attempts, win or lose. I wouldn't say he "chokes", but I would say he gets really nervous and that isn't good for him.

I think if you dig deep enough, you will find dirt on every person (especially lots of Celebs) Peyton was very classy in his loss against the Seahawks. Cam Newton stormed off like a baby last night after the loss.

To be honest I dont follow that close into Celebs lives, so I didnt even realize half the stuff you said. Doesnt really change my opinion about him though. I think everyone has done bad things in their life time. Love or hate Peyton, he has had a fantastic career in the NFL. Anytime I watch the top QB shows, they always have Brady ahead of Manning so I dont think Pats fans have to ever worry about that.

Neither does he because he made at least half off that stuff up.

Pretty much the norm around here.

I don't think there's been a QB that has played at such a high level year in and year out like Brady.

I grew up a huge Montana fan because my family were all ND fans. While Montana was unbelievably great in the Super Bowl he was no where near the QB Brady is week in and week out. He went through a stretch in '85 and '86 where he was physical mess. He and Young alternated starts in 1988 because Walsh really liked Young better. Young's run against the Vikings that year really put himself on the map with the fans. Had SF flamed out in the playoffs after the 10-6 regular season Montana might have been done as a starter with them. Their win over Cincinnati really came out of nowhere...

Brady's job has never been jeopardy during the prime of his career like Montana.

The one thing I don't think Montana gets quite enough credit for was his play with the Chiefs. The stats might not have been mind blowing but he was still very good....

Personally, I think Manning and Brady are both better than Montana when you look at the bodies of work. Injuries really hurt Montana in the mid 80's....

I agree with this. Brady's play year in and year out, season to season has never been matched. His biggest slump was the first four games of last year when he went 2-2 on his way to his 4th ring. His ability to raise his game the bigger the game is also unmatched because of the stretch of time he has done it over. He has 31 playoff starts, most all time and won 22 of those. Just an amazing body of work.

He was also not quite as good in 2009 while getting back to form. Imagine what may have been if that knee injury hadn't happened.
