We're on to Tampa Bay: Game Thread - Buccaneers @ Patriots - Sun. Oct 3rd 8:20 PM (NBC)

There was some talk about this earlier in the week with all the hype the game was getting.
Turns out, a record viewership was reached for NBC.

NBC says Bucs-Patriots game averaged 28.5 million viewers and projects to be the most-watched Sunday Night Football game since 2012.
Game had a 34 share, highest ever for SNF on NBC.

Welp, there it is. The argument to end all arguments. Belichick sucks, Kraft sucks, Brady and Gronkowski are simply too good for the Patriots and don't deserve them.

We get it. Considering that's your peddled nonsense for virtually every post of yours, it's hard to ignore.

However, I do have a little conspiracy theory for you. Gronkowski could have gone last night, but it was probably better to beg off, so he wouldn't have had to receive the mother of all booings every time he touched the ball - to protect his brand. :coffee:

You're the best Tommy. Glad you are back posting.

But that's your first mistake. Believing Gronk thinks. Lol

Bill's game plan was to let Fournette destroy his defense?
How was is “destroyed” exactly? Do you watch the games or are really new to what he does?

I remember BB doing this vs Pitt in 2016 where Bell ran for 150 and the Pats won like 27-16 or something and I laughed the e entire game because Pitt kept taking the cheese as Butler with bracket coverage took out AB. Tomlin was too dumb to get what was happening.

You do realize BB has a gameplan in Canton with this, right? SB 25.

Wow.

If you don’t get the sport, try to learn from others.

For the record, I am bullshit pissed off at Belichick for not going for it on 4th and 3.
That wasn't Adam Vinatieri or even Stephen Gostkowski you're running out there. You're asking a guy who hasn't made a field goal that long since his rookie season, to kick a 56 yarder in the rain, and that's somehow a better option, than picking up a 4th and short like they did a few plays earlier, when Bolden was wide the fuck open to pick it up. And Meyers was wide open the play before, if the ball hadn't been tipped.

They needed 10 more yards for a reasonable shot. I'm not even shitting on Nick Folk, that was an impossible position for him. They had plenty of time, still had a timeout.

If anyone is interested in the probabilities for success. It's complicated.

I honestly wish BB had opted to go for it, mostly because of who's on the opposite sideline. You make it and go up 20-19, but Brady is there with a minute and 2 timeouts. It was going to be really tough to get out of there with a win. Granted, Brady struggled mightily, but I still wouldn't bet against him. You go for it and begin to chew the clock and go for the win in the dying seconds. Of course in hindsight a lot of things change, but it did puzzle me a bit. That said, I'm not going to criticize BB for being conservative. Overall it was a masterful coaching job, and despite the loss it should leave us with a pretty hopeful outlook on the rest of the season. The defense showed how good it can be. The offense was able to keep up despite not looking great for big stretches, but with Mac out there will always be a chance.

Tripping Harris. How can that not be seen? He was the ball carrier. I think the next play the defender comes over the top to tackle Jones about the head and shoulders for the sack. Jones was the person holding the football. I thought that was roughing the passer. Egregious.

Not to mention that Donovan Smith put a choke hold on Judon about a dozen times last night and drew one flag, which he griped about. I felt like the reffing was particularly awful and they missed a bunch, such as the tripping you mentioned. That is one thing that almost always gets called and they can't not have seen it. There were misidentifications (hands to the face on Guy), makeup calls, missed calls, ticky-tacks, bad spots and more. They were a crew that seemed nervous because, who knows?, the game was a huge deal? Beats me, but that was a poorly officiated game and that went both ways. Vinovich is over-rated as a head guy and the entire crew was a disappointing blemish on a really good football game.

Was rewatching the game and caught this. Patriots are down 16 - 14. 5 minutes and change left. It's second down and Mac rolls out to his right and almost throws an interception at the 5.

But look at Henry. Uncovered in the endzone. Easy TD that might have meant the win.

(sorry for the potato quality pic, didn't feel like getting up)

I'm not upset. Mac will see this and improve. Well, not this post, but the play and how open Henry was. 🙂

The future is bright indeed.
Already said this in another thread...and earlier during the game last night.

When do you end the charade of being a Patriots fan?
There is a guy like this on profootball talk. He goes by “NHPatsFan” and is clearly a troll from NY. His loins rage for Brady daily and he claims to be a Boomer, which is obviously concerning.

Leave it to Sheriff Goebbels to pretend our HOF Gunner doesn’t know the rules. It’s a new one every time he does it.

I don't disagree with your larger point that Goodell sucks, but unless there is some alternate explanation that has been uncovered today, that one
was a completely legit penalty on Slater. For one thing, he never exactly got hammered when he first went OOB, but attempted to use the shove to
his advantage, because he thought he was free (or something). He never really fought to get back IB-- at least to my eyes and that's what he's supposed to do.

I couldn't figure out why he was griping, although it appeared he was blaming the 2nd defender for keeping him OOB, which was a specious argument
on Matt's part. I think there was a gap between the blockers, but he ignored it and kept running. No ref really wants to throw a flag
on him, because his rep is squeaky clean, but I don't think he left them with a choice.

If anybody is aware of a different explanation then please hook me up. That's just how I saw the play.
