Antonio Brown's New Gig

if what he said is true then yes they should face consequences.

There must be a suite of rules in the NFLPA agreement with the NFL about forcing injured players to play etc? And then punishing them, (in AB's allegation, the punishment of literally cutting him from the team), if that player refuses to play.

This was bound to come out. Now Arians and Licht are colluding to coerce AB "not to spin their story".
AB has witnesses to the sideline argument with Arians.
AB has text communications with both Arians and Licht about his ankle injury. (He probably has texts with Bucs medical staff as well)
AB has independent orthopedic surgeon ordered MRI proof of traumatic lesions in the ankle which require Sx.

Arians and Licht are on a hotseat. They already look like lying, corrupt, soulless, dominating, overbearing bosses. They mishandled Godwin's and Gronks' injuries within the last few weeks.

The Bucs medical staff looks bad here, too. But are they?

If a doc in NYC can determine the problem within an hour exam and an MRI you can bet the Bucs' med staff knew the problem as well. They're between a rock and a hard place. As employees of the Bucs they can't say a word that would make Arians/Licht look like fools. They also can't speak up from an ethical pov either. Hipaa will come in handy for Arians. But in a hearing, medical ethics and Hipaa go out the window; they will have to provide all their medical records and treatment advice. For now, they look incompetent but they can't squeal on Arians or Licht by telling their side so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. I'm pretty certain they would have advised caution with AB's injured ankle. "If AB doesn't think he can play then don't play him. If AB thinks he can play it's fine to let him try to play but if he complains at any time about his ankle then take him out right away." That's the best it could be for Arians. More probably they advised not playing AB at all.

Now the PA should get involved and I hope like hell they force the issue.

This is why AB hasn't been cut and why Arians is backpedaling about cutting him. Asking him to seek another opinion at the same hospital is simply a weak attempt to save face. "Well, we asked him to get another opinion."

Arians and Licht smell rotten.

Well put. It has clear potential to blow up here. If they were also pushing Godwin, making him running in training on a ruptured ACL, that's appalling.

Arians is idiotic if all this is true. You go to a player who you knew was carrying an injury, who you were texting on it and who the GM was texting on it, and start screaming at him to play on the sideline and then literally tell him he's finished with the team when AB says no, I can't play, my ankle is too bad?

Brown's side of this is pretty compelling. And it sounds like he can back up everything he said too.

Ouch, that's a fairly damning statement from AB on what happened. Arians and co knew all about the Ankle injury he had and Arians told him to go play during the game and he said he couldn't due to pain. He had an MRI on Monday which he says confirmed the ligament has been torn from bone and he has bone fragments loose and has scheduled an operation ASAP.

Could the Bucs be in trouble here? If Brown has those text messages between him and Arians in the lead up to the game where Arians acknowledges the injury etc and of the MRI is legit and reflects what he's saying, there could be trouble.

If this is true as per his lawyer, there could be issues.

I wonder who wrote that?

I wouldn't bet against it being Alex Guerrero. :coffee:

Presented without comment

I love how Florio just assumes it's not true out of hand...because there are plenty of people with $100k to throw around to miracle """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""doctor"""""""""""""""""""""""""""" trainers. :coffee:

It's like Christmas all over again.

I'll look forward to Brady's Presser later today in which we'll get a chance to see that special look that he gets on his
face when the real world intrudes on the magical High Elf Kingdom that he has created with the power of his mind.

My fondest wish is that, when all is said and done, AB, Arians, Licht, Brady, Gronkie and AG all look worse. Hell,
let's get Giselle involved, too.

In a shit storm everybody gets covered.

Hahahaha!!!

Am I a bad peson for saying that I love this?

Absolutely not, Guerrero is a despicable person. Someone who should be ostracised when you look at his rap sheet. And created a totally unacceptable situation in NE when Bill Belichick was put in a disgraceful position by AG and Brady, right in the middle where Bill had those two quacks on one side and his trained, experienced Medical professionals on the other. Fortunately, Bill is not Bruce Arians and made the only decision any sensible person would make, he went with the pros and AG was out. And Brady threw a hissy fit and that was really a big reason why Brady was sulking from the 2017 season onwards. And Gronkie, the thick as shit moron, followed him on this, too stupid to ever ask himself while lying on the treatment table for the umpteenth time, "Actually, I wonder is Guerrero actually doing me any good here?"

I'm delighted AG and Brady are being called out on this. How Brady got away from signing onto a product billed as a beverage to treat concussion, I will never know. I mean if Manning, Rodgers or Ben had done this we'd have ridiculed them to death. Tom for some bizarre reason got a totally free pass from the press and Guerrero's quackery is never called out.
