Derailed Brown non game thread

He's always been one to disappear every other game but I never thought he'd disappear this much, and he's averaging more snaps than everyone else, 97% or more 3 times now. Just by law of averages he should have like 30 targets but he has 16 with 10 coming in one game. That is downright pathetic. Maybe he'll figure it out but I'm less than hopeful, I'd rather see Bourne take more of his snaps.
No. The answer is Thornton...for the long balls. Parker does play decent at selective times. He does definitely need some refining though. I guess you could say that about every player though.

What? I never saw him set protection. The line worked they’re butts off. He was given pretty much 1 play the line was either in pass protection or run protection based on the call ..... I would be pissed if they let him call the play and set protection in his second game ... and there was no evidence he did. Now he did step up in the pocket and he was poised and wasn’t intimidated or overwhelmed but I didn’t think he would be.

Go back and watch the game again snd you will see him set a protection. Moving guys around upfront and also identifying the rushers.

I did 3 times.

Patricia called play-action or a screen on more than half of Zappe’s pass attempts to limit his reads and exploit an overly aggressive Detroit defense. On regular dropbacks, the Pats disguised the same basic route concepts with different formations and motions to keep their quarterback comfortable and the Lions guessing. This allowed Zappe to safely and routinely find receivers on short swing routes, stop routes or running straight upfield, as seen on his two longest completions.

None of that means he wasn’t setting the line. Watch him call out and move guys. It is easy to see and hear.

At least on other teams boards the trolls are willing to admit they hate the team and the reasons.

Here they lie about it. I think even to themselves.

Amari Cooper has a 35% target share against man coverage this season to go along with a 2.43 yards per route run, per PFF.
Njoku has a 15% target share.
The Pats play man 40% of the time. Stopping Cooper won't be easy but it's job 2. Stopping their run game is job 1.

It’s really bad, just a slightly less worse (still really bad) version of NKeal Harry. Parker is a big waste of snaps as there are 4 other better pass catchers being wasted due to opportunity cost of not playing.

They don’t need to force the deep crappy offense and it made Mac a worse QB. If Evan Rothstein is the one pushing the narrative that they HAVE to go deep because that’s the new nfl, then this kid needs to be fired. No. Know thyself. The Patriots are a smashmouth power run football team with 2 tight ends and with good route running WRs for short + medium passes (Meyers, Bourne, Henry). They already tried and failed at the crappy chuck it deep offense and it resulted in league worst QB ratings and league high INT numbers.

Don’t hate the team at all just dislike Bill and want him to move on. I’ve been honest about that for a long time as have other posters who you probably believe are trolls as well because they don’t worship Bill.

Should have been doing this the whole time including with Mac. A lot of power run smashmouth football. With a lot of play action and screens. Ditch the crappy chuck it deep offense that is inefficient plus gets the QB injured

Isn't Thornton more Agholor's spot though? Which I'm all for as well.

I did he wasn’t doing anything other then what he was told 1 play at a time they changed the plays to confuse defenses so he wouldn’t have to change anything other then make a perhaps slight adjustment from time to time. He threw 21 passes completed 17 they weren’t asking him to do much period. The exact same thing that they did with Mac last year.

So, as a Patriots fan, you dislike the guy who built, rebuilt, and rebuilt again the greatest dynasty since in the free agency era? In spite of your hero worship of that one player, it wasn't just that one player responsible for the dynasty. It was the entire team, offense, defense, special teams, and the coaches that this man that you dislike put together. That's how the team ended up winning 6 Super Bowls and 9 conference championships.
It was the man that you dislike who had the courage to replace a franchise QB with the player that you so adore.
Yet, you as a claimed Patriots fan dislike this man?

Whether the plays were simple or not, my point is the way he played the position. We all saw it. The poise, ability to move up in the pocket and set the protection to account for the free rushers. Within the plays themselves, he made great adjustments getting the balls to the playmakers. Bill said after the game that he is seeing the game the way the coaches do. That is pretty high praise given it was his first start.

I've been clear on this that my dislike for Bill began about 6/7 years ago when he began letting the roster deteriorate. It has been steaming garbage now going on 3+ seasons but posters such as yourself just slap "rebuild" on every off year. IMO, he has lost it as a GM a long time and it is time for him to go. I will always be appreciative of his accomplishments and the winning he helped to bring here but the time has arrived for some new blood IMO.

That was last year. How’d that turn out?
