Bill and Kraft part ways

To be clear, I like Jerod Mayo. He may even turn out to be a great HC. I hope like hell he does!
I do not like the way Jonathan has maneuvered himself to have total control over this team.
The succession plan was his idea. Firing BB a year early was his idea. Low cash spending has been bc of him.
Now he's in control of everything but has set up proxies so it doesn't look that way.
I'm fearful for Mayo. I'm fearful for our Patriots. Hell, I'm even fearful for RKK since it's pretty obvious he's incapable of lucid thought.

The New England Patriots has become strictly a business venture for Jonathan Thanks, Dad Kraft.

I'll believe that Jonathan has maneuvered himself to have total control of the team when -- and ONLY WHEN --
he gets his own booster hi-boy chair in that stadium Owner's Box

Well, for now he's got his "fixer" in position to advise his HC. Surely she can arrange for a booster chair for Jonathan.
Until then, he can sit on her lap to watch the game. Or she can sit on his lap. :coffee:

I am kind of excited to see how Jonathan runs things different from his dad. It is obvious we need a new approach. I guess I am of the wait and see approach especially given the draft capital and FA capital we have to spend this off-season. If we pick/spend wisely, this team can be turned around as soon as next season IMO.

So if Jonathon is the reason for the lack of spending recently, how does that give you confidence moving forward ?

Especially with his girl, with NO football experience, being the “senior advisor to a NFL head coach?!?!?!?!?!

I'm not sure it has been Jonathan for the lack of spending. I guess we'll find out. Ultimately it will still be Robert's call I would imagine.

i don't buy all that bs about why jk wasn't at these pressers. i don't buy anything the krafts have been selling since january 11.

He's the bean counter. After seeing RKK recently, does he seem to be someone who is capable of running a $1B per year business? He's good for making
a slurred speech from time to time as the face of the franchise but asking him to get involved on a day to day basis is more than he can handle.

I think Jonathan has been running things for awhile. I guess we’ll see if this new reorganization works. I don’t blame them for not wanting to give control to one guy after letting Bill do it for 24 years.

You can't seriously think it's a good idea to give a senior football role to a non-football person like Robyn Glazer? Someone with no football experience suddenly made EVP of Football Operations and an actual advisor to the Head Coach?? It's utterly moronic and is almost comically unsubtle. It's JK's attempt to meddle while pretending to the outside world he's not involved in any way. Glazer is his lackey; she does nothing without his say.

I don’t think it’s a good idea, however, sports are littered with people with no background in the sport, who have great success.

As I’ve been saying all along, I’m willing to let this play out before making any judgments. I certainly don’t blame Robert or Jonathan for wanting to take more control back after giving complete control to Belichick for 24 years and having it blow up in their face since Brady left. None of this really surprises me honestly. Obviously I just hope it works. I am really starting to dig Mayo as our head coach and I’m looking forward to see who he names as his coordinators and other position coaches. We have a fantastic off-season ahead of us with tremendous draft position and a lot of money to spend in free agency. I am cautiously optimistic. I mean let’s face it we were 4-13 last year with no quarterback. We can only go up from there IMO.

Lol, you have no idea what you're talking about, so you come across as a moron.

Wickersham talks to Guregian

On BB wanting to trade Mac Jones last year
He was actively shopping Mac Jones after the '22 season but ownership wanted to see what Mac could do under BOB. He said other teams were definitely interested in trading for Mac.
BB wanted to sign a veteran, (I've heard it was Mayfield). Of course, ownership stopped the trade and asked that BOB be brought in.

Jerod's succession clause
Late last season ('22) it was known the Kraft's wanted to bring in BOB and conveyed that to BB. That changed the dynamic in the organization and got BB thinking the culture
that he had built was being eroded quickly by the Krafts. BB began thinking he no longer wanted to be there as long ago as before the end of the '22 season. The baseball bat incidents
further indicated that BB's authority and influence was being eroded from the inside. BB knew it. The succession plan reinforced BB to think Jonathan was becoming a bigger voice and had gotten his way with RKK to part ways with BB.

On Jonathan Kraft
At a meeting before the end of the '22 season Jonathan let it be known that he was done with BB. JK called BB a flaming asshole and proclaimed he was done with BB. JK later denied that but plenty of people were there to hear it. He thinks there's a case to be made that Jonathan exerted his influence with RKK to get BB ousted and for Jerod to be the successor.

On Mayo's speech
A lot of BB's supporters in the front office were angry over some of the things Mayo said. They thought Mayo was being controlled as to what to say. The entire staff (scouts, coaches, etc.) was instantly divided regarding BB's prior historic success. They thought it could have been handled better.

On where BB goes
He wanted to see BB go to Dallas to get them over the hump to further tweak the Krafts. He thinks it is likely that BB let it be known he wasn't interested in going to Dallas through back channels. He thinks Atlanta is likely now that McCarthy is back with Dallas.

Every bit of that re-inforces they way I already felt that things happened and why.

Sadly.

#Team Schmuck

This season was a big fuck you from Belichick to Grandpa Hand Job and his football genius son for meddling.

You want Mac? You got him.

Now Gramps has his diversity hire coach and his female EVP to keep an eye on things for him. It won't lead to winning, but the Boston Globe is ready to give him humanitarian awards. John Henry and Bob Kraft. What a pair!
