Bring On The Bills!

In honor of the City of Buffalo, for the benefit of the Bills coaching staff, the Jumbotron will play CANADIAN BACON, with the audio coming through the headsets. The usual Patriots cheerleaders will be replaced with winners of the Rhea Perlman look-alike contest

Enjoy!

So does anybody feel like we sign a WR this week? I have this funny feeling we sign a WR later on today

So does anybody feel like we sign a WR this week? I have this funny feeling we sign a WR later on today

Brady was on his weekly Monday morning interview with WEEI and this topic was discussed. Brady was asked if it's possible to bring in a WR at this point of the season and make him productive in the offense. Brady was skeptical and said it would be very difficult. I think they stay with what they have, get Keyshawn Martin healthy and hope Edelman is ready for the playoffs.

I always marvel at how the Bills can get your hopes up, only to dash them to pieces on the cold hard rocks of reality, time and time again and you all continue to have even more hope for next time.

"The Bills only hurt me because I deserve it", "The Bills destroy my hope because they love me", "They didn't mean it", "It'll be different next time", etc.

Tell you what... Were I control freak who loved beating women, I'd marry a Bills fan. :coffee:

Keshawn Martin is obviously still a good player for us,” Brady said during his weekly appearance on the Dennis and Callahan Show with Kirk Minihane. “He’s hopefully coming back here soon [from a hamstring injury]. I have a lot of confidence in Brandon LaFell. Danny [Amendola's] role is different than what Julian’s was for us. I think they are a little different type of players.

Actually, I'm positive we're gonna lose. Monday night. In New England - 2 things the Bills always succeed in looking bad at. BUT, can't mean I'm not going to be optimistic

You're POSITIVE they're gonna lose AND you're optimistic?

Now there's a neat trick.

Patriots cover. Bills (again) get too amped up for the game, blow through all their adrenaline in the 1st quarter, and the game's over by the 4th (again). Maybe the Bills score a couple late, to make it an "almost win" again. They can totally build on that, as the Patriots crush the Bills' playoff hopes. :coffee:

I don't know about the crushing the Bills' playoff hopes part. It's not that I think the Bills are that amazing, but Pittsburg has a rough schedule coming up (Seahawks, Colts, Bengals, Broncos) and I'm not sure I'm seeing another AFC team ready to win enough games to leap into the competition.

This year still seems odd, a few really good teams and a lot of mediocrity.

and only because that one is a division game.

Here how you beat the bills offense. You stop the run. Take away taylor running lanes . Force him to be a pocket QB. He's A QB that makes more plays with his legs then Arm . Look out how successful kap has been since they took away his running lanes. Forced him to make accurate throws in the pocket
I think Tyrod is a lot better QB than Kap, (and certainly a better passer).

So is Martin ready? Will still be determined. I believe they will find a way to gel

  • Since Week 3, LeGarrette Blount leads the league in rushing attempts inside the 5-yard line with 11 (he's converted five).
  • Rob Gronkowski has 10 career touchdowns in eight games played against the Bills and averaged 5.5 receptions for 82 yards facing them.
  • After pass protecting 20 percent more of the time on his passing snaps the previous three weeks, Gronkowski stayed in to block on just six of his 43 passing snaps last week.
  • After Julian Edelman left last week, Danny Amendola had 25.9 percent of the team targets.
  • The Bills are one of two teams (Atlanta) to have two or fewer sacks in every game this season.
  • Buffalo has allowed multiple touchdown passes in seven games this season, tied for the second most in the league.
  • LeSean McCoy is the first Buffalo running back to have three straight games with 100 or more yards from scrimmage since C.J. Spiller in 2012.
  • Buffalo is second in the league in rushing yards per game at 142.3. The Patriots are allowing just 55.3 rushing yards per game over the past four weeks.
  • Tony Romo still has more red zone pass attempts (17) than Tyrod Taylor (13) for the season.
  • Taylor leads the league with139 rushing yards on third down this season.

Trust: Tom Brady (lost a significant drive-sustaining weapon for the second week in a row, but until he shows he’s affected from a fantasy standpoint it’s business as usual), Rob Gronkowski (wasn’t asked to help block last week and is the best Patriot pass catcher left)

Bust: Karlos Williams (for someone scoring a touchdown per week it’s dangerously ironic that he has just one carry inside the 5-yard line this season), Brandon LaFell (he had two solid lines against the Bills last year, but Buffalo is defending outside at a higher level this season), Charles Clay (New England has smothered tight ends, not allowing any top-10 one this season)

Reasonable Return: Tyrod Taylor (the first time these two teams played he saved his day late, but the Patriots have allowed usable quarterback production), LeSean McCoy (he’s looked great the past two weeks and we know the touches will be here), Sammy Watkins (the Patriots haven’t been giving to lead receivers, but Watkins looks as if he’s ready to turn a corner in production), Danny Amendola (we know he’s not Julian Edelman, but he’s just fine as a weekly floor option), LeGarrette Blount (this is not a battering ram type of game, but he’s a weekly RB2 play for his touchdown upside alone)

OddsShark gives a betting tip for the game.

The Buffalo Bills (5-4) will go for their third straight win over a divisional opponent when they visit the unbeaten New England Patriots (9-0) in the Week 11 Monday night matchup. The Bills have beaten the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets in their last two games, and they are 3-1 straight up and against the spread on the road this season with the lone loss coming in London versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Point spread: The Patriots opened as 7.5-point favorites; the total was 49.5 early in the week, according to sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark (line updates and matchup report).
NFL pick, via Odds Shark computer: 29.4-15.9 Patriots win

Why the Bills can cover the spread
While Buffalo has lost 18 of the past 20 meetings with New England, only one of those came with Rex Ryan as head coach. Ryan obviously knows the Patriots very well from his time with the New York Jets, and the Bills played them tough in the first meeting back in Week 2 before falling 40-32 as one-point home favorites.
The fact that they were actually favored against the defending Super Bowl champions says a lot about the respect oddsmakers had for Ryan and his team heading into that matchup.
After the surprising 34-31 loss to the Jaguars, Buffalo has played much better defensively, limiting the Dolphins and Jets to 17 points apiece during the team’s two-game winning streak. The Bills are not equipped offensively to win a shootout, as they have surrendered an average of 33 points in their four losses. But playing great defense against New England can keep them in this game and give them a chance to win.

Why the Patriots can cover the spread
The Patriots are one of the most resourceful teams in the NFL, which is why their backers should not panic too much with wide receiver Julian Edelman likely out for the rest of the regular season with a broken foot.
They originally acquired Danny Amendola from the St. Louis Rams to fill the role of the departed Wes Welker, and Edelman just happened to emerge around the same time to become one of quarterback Tom Brady’s favorite targets. Now it’s Amendola’s opportunity to seize the moment and step up.
Brady has done an outstanding job throughout his career of utilizing whatever offensive weapons he has at his disposal, which is why he is a four-time Super Bowl champion and surefire Hall of Famer. With running back Dion Lewis out with a torn ACL, he has leaned more on LeGarrette Blount to carry a heavier load. And Blount has responded by totaling 195 yards on 48 carries with two touchdowns in the last two games.

Smart pick
While the first meeting was a high-scoring affair, expect the defenses for both teams to take center stage here in prime time and lead to a much lower-scoring game. The under is 9-3 for the Bills in their past 12 games as underdogs and has also cashed in New England’s last two home games, so look for this one to dip below the total.

Betting trends
The Bills are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games on the road against the Patriots in November.
The Patriots are 13-2 straight up and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games in November.
The Bills are 0-7 SU and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games after consecutive wins.

For whatever reason, we play the bills well no matter what their defense is doing. Its kind of like how Eli always plays gang busters against the pats. The game is at home, we often do well there. The Bills are a good team, but I think we get the win and cover in this one, especially with the team coming off what they and some here a bad game in a win.
