Man, Solder just can't catch a break. His own cancer, injury and now the worst of all.

Patriots OT Solder reveals his son is battling cancer

Posted by Zac Jackson on November 16, 2015, 8:24 PM EST

Patriots offensive tackle announced Monday night that his infant son, Hudson, is battling kidney cancer.

Nate Solder was speaking at a fundraiser when he revealed that Hudson has undergone some chemotherapy treatments to fight a tumor that was diagnosed last month, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reported.

Nate Solder announced last spring that he’d played the 2014 season with testicular cancer. Solder often tweets about that cause and his son on his verified Twitter account.

Solder, 27, is in his fifth season with the Patriots. He was the No. 17 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Terrible news for the Solder family but there's plenty of hope.

He has a Wilm's tumor in a kidney. He's being treated at the world's best hospital and cancer center for children, Boston Children's in conjunction with Dana Farber. It's the leading authority for Wilm's tumor treatments. The good news is the majority of patients beat this cancer with prompt Dx and Tx.

That what my granddaughter had/has she's in remission. I certainly wish him the best. It really depends on the stage, if its unilateral or bilateral, and histology of the tumor, favorable or unfavorable. The worlds best would be NCI in Bethesda, MD but Boston's a great choice.

Crap. That sucks.

Prayers to the Solder family.

Happy to hear that this is beatable and he is in the best treatment facility in the country.

An absolute cutie pie. Prayers to the family.

Was sad to hear this last night on the news. I pray that he does well.
I know 2 people, a sister and brother who survived this as children - both now well past 50+ years survival.
