My Dad was a veterinarian and worked with Roy back in the late 60's early 70's to build a packing house. I don't think it ever came about but they got to be good friends. Hee haw was a go to show as a kid though.

Huge loss to the country music community.

I was at the Grand Ole Opry last month and Larry Gatlin said he was doing poorly, RIP.

If his name had come up in a game of dead or alive, I would have lost.
I'm not a country music fan, but I do recall Hee Haw.

RIP.

I loved Hee Haw when I was a kid. With all of the musicians in rock and roll bands at the time Roy could keep his own as a musician.

So sad to see the loss of Roy Clark. May he rest in peace.

RIP, Mr Clark.
You made lots of folks happy with your pickin' and grinnin' including me!

A rare talent with a great sense of humor.

He was a Great guitarist (all string instruments). Just fun. He was a guest on The Odd Couple (Jack Klugman and my favorite-Tony Randall). You can look it up on youtube or amazon. Roy Clark picked away at his guitar in a song (or maybe his banjo). He was picking so fast and beautifully, I watched it over and over! And he was naturally funny. My life is better because of Roy Clark. And to not have seen Hee Haw at least once or twice, is not to have lived. You'll never know what you missed- Buck Owens and Roy Clark. He, Chet Atkins, Glenn Campbell, Jerry Reed- I don't care if you can't stand country music. To watch those boys play the guitar and banjo the way they did, words can't describe. And Roy could sing pretty well too.

I used to love watching Hee Haw... Roy was a fabulous musician as well a funny man. I'm not sure there was an instrument that he couldn't play. RIP Roy...

Love Larry gatlin.

I seen Roy at my first opry show in 2013 and he wasn’t in great health then. Loved pickin and grinnin on her haw.

Wow. I have several students who live in a very rural area and they make fun of each other using the "hillbilly" word frequently.

Just yesterday, I put a You Tube video of Hee Haw up for them at the end of the period.

RIP Mr. Clark

That was a great episode of The Odd Couple! He was Oscar's friend and would always play Mountain Dew for him. :)

It really showcased his talents on just about any instrument: violin and guitar, and he played a jokester, so his sense of humor was added.

My father had heard more than enough country music while training down South before shipping out to Korea, but he always enjoyed Hee Haw and loved Roy Clark's playing.

One of his best. Beautifully sung.
