How do you feel about people acting like Rodgers is the GOAT?

Dumb take. TB12 "has a lot more options now" because he creates options. Always has. Same thing Rodgers is doing. Edelman? Hogan? Amendola? Decent guys that Brady takes to the next level. Gronk is all-world. Jordy Nelson isn't. Jordy Nelson is a Green Bay Edelman, a guy created by the system and the QB who worked hard, maximized his talent, and is the right fit for the system he's in. His production would drop off elsewhere.

And yesterday, with Nelson out, Rodgers still had his #2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 options who all played a role in the game. So, I don't buy the "less" argument at all. Are we still pretending that Green Bay's season started 8 games ago and knocking off 6 cupcakes to get to the playoffs is some amazing thing that erases 10 games of suck?

Call me when Rodgers gets Doug Gabriel a job.

Here's a question for you specifically. How much is Tom Brady liked in Michigan? There was a feeling that for a time he was not loved by the alumnus there the way others were. I suppose that may have been partly because he wasn't the long term starter there. But the visit last year to the Team seemed to have been well received. I mean Tom is rabidly loyal to Michigan as is Eisen, but it seems like it wasn'r reciprocated for a while.

I never said TB has all world guys, or that he doesn't elevate/maximize them. He clearly doesn't have all world guys and does elevate them. I said only that he has more options. That's the truth. What year has he ever had this many guys with talent to throw to, including RBs?

DA was fairly productive with crap QBs. The fact he is like a #26 in the Pats corps right now even when healthy tells me there are a lot of options for TB.

A cheesy remark about a pretty gouda player. :)

E-dam! that's a good post. It's because of posts like these that this forum seems to always cure my bleus.

Rodgers is a good QB. His style works for the system he's in and he does a good job with what he has. He gets a lot of credit for things that he probably shouldn't, but that's just how QBs go.

I don't think that anyone has proclaimed him the best ever. He's playing well now.

I think a hearty "**** him" is still in order, solely because I'm slightly jealous about this whole Olivia Munn thing.

I don't brielieve these puns....

Why do we care what other NFL followers are saying about another team's QB?

Are we Colts fans all of a sudden or something?

There's a lot of myths that accompany his time in Ann Arbor. Specifically the "he wasn't even a starter" myth. (He started every game his junior and senior years.)

I could write a book on this, but long story short, yes there were some people who wanted Drew Henson to start (the guy had all the talent in the world and when he did start was phenomenal) but Tom also was one of the best QBs we've ever had. He received a rousing ovation on senior day, and then went out and beat OSU.

His time at Michigan was tough at points, but it's forgotten that he almost beat out Brian Griese in 97 when we won the natty.

Tom is certainly more beloved now by certain segments of the fan base given his NFL success, but the revisionism surrounding his Michigan days that is set to make the story more rags to riches than it actually was is annoying.

I'll give you a HEAR! HEAR! on that.:toast:

He is (Gronk I assume), but he has a lot more options than AR does right now. Saturday was partly, IMO a product of not having them all/all healthy, especially Mitchell. He loves that dude like a fat kid loves cake.

Not sure I agree. I think he had everyone he needed. The problem was Houston's defense did a really good job at taking away everyone underneath, so what was left for Brady was having to throw long; hence the lengthier-than-usual time for him holding the ball. Hogan did get hurt during the game, but there was still Jules, Danny, Bennett, White, and Lewis. I might be missing someone. But with the exception of Jules making two long receptions, they're all short pass guys, for the most part.

Good to hear the facts on Tom's time at M.

Look, you're emmentally capable of not being this childish.
I love it when people get in a pun competition. Havarti at it.

I'm just got back from Utah, where I obtained some financing from a friend at BYU.

I guess you'd call it a Provo loan.

Even as a feudal lord I wasn't able to secure financing (to expand my land holdings) without securing it with a vassel lien.

Cheers

As a Patriots and Brady fan, I would think that you shouldn't care one bit what anyone says about your guy vs. another guy. This is the time you should be sitting back enjoying what's on your field. Kick your legs up, interlock your fingers behind your head and enjoy what you have.
only one thing missing

I'd rather see good QB play than bad

I wish there were more good QBs in the game to be honest
amen, i blame starting them instantly. IF Jimmy G is the wet dream our buddy believes him to be, sitting and learning is prof guys like Rogers gained knowledge backing up the starter.

I wish the world would acknowledge TFB's supremacy. But then, I realize that here as in anything else, what matters is what you think and what you believe. Not what others think. I also weep at the injustice. But he world is fillled with

Tom has moved on, so can I.

I also believe that in the future, books, of good critical analysis will be written, and time, and his CV will speak for themselves.

Cheers
they will once he retired and not beating their asses.

Man I know what you mean. I always get furious when fans of other teams say nice things about their players.

You finally get it!!!

Ah who cares what they think, honest, who really cares. I hope they think he is good.

Forserious. Other fans hyping their team's players is not something to get your jimmie rustled over.

Look at this freaking nonsense.......

LINK: Aaron Rodgers has reached Michael Jordan level of performance

I think it's clear who the NFL wants to win.
