    Memories of November 18, 2001

Yesterday's game reminded me in some ways of the Patriots' loss against the Rams in Foxboro in 2001: https://www.footballdb.com/games/boxscore/st-louis-rams-vs-new-england-patriots-2001111814 One of the things I remember about that game was Mike Martz saying afterwards that the Patriots were a...

    Question about long-term wagering

I know nothing about sports betting and I was wondering if it’s possible to make a wager like “the Patriots won’t play in the Super Bowl in the next 30 years” at 1000-1 odds. Since I don’t expect to live long enough to find out, is there a way such a wager could be part of my estate?

    Mel Kiper for GM

Despite a good draft class this past year with Mac, Baramore, and Rhonda (whatever their names are), I wonder how the Patriots roster would look now if they had just drafted according to Mel Kiper’s best available draft board, since perhaps the year Isaiah Winn was drafted.

Tacko Fall cut by Cavaliers, should/could the Patriots sign him?

Would it be "legal" (i.e. conforming to the NFL rules) for the Celtics to sign Tacko Fall to the active roster so he could play on Saturday night against the Bills? How effective would he be as a receiver? Is it possible that he would NOT win any "jump ball" situation? How high can NFL...

    Any Hightown fans here?

I looked for the ”what are you watching?” thread but couldn’t find it, but in any case I think Hightown deserves its own thread. It’s a series on STARZ that just completed its second season about junkies, strippers, lesbians and the State Police on Cape Cod. Lots of goofy mistakes in geography...

    not that surprised

I had a bad feeling going into last night's game. I didn't like the way everyone in the media was picking the Patriots to beat the Colts. The hype around Belichick's mystique had never been so great following their win in Buffalo. But they could easily have lost that game and the narrative...

Worst loss in Patriots history or worst receiving corps in the NFL?

I can't decide which topic is foremost in my mind. Obviously this was the most devastating loss in Patriots history after going undefeated in exhibition games, but on the other hand, is there a worse group of receivers on any team in the NFL?

Which is weirder? Releasing Cam or trading for Chiefs offensive lineman?

As surprising as it is that Belichick released Cam Newton today, isn't it even stranger that he traded a 7th round draft pick to Chiefs for an offensive lineman? The Patriots have terrific depth at offensive line and it's the biggest weakness of the Chiefs, so it seems especially odd to bring...

The good thing about the Jets game

At least we know that the confusion in the secondary isn't because of Stephan Gilmore or Eric Rowe.

I dreamed the Pats were losing...

52-7 to the Redskins in a game in the snow. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Which would be the best outcome for the upcoming season?

As much as it would be awesome for the Patriots to win another superbowl, it occurs to me that winning without Tom Brady would in some ways be awesomer. I've been thinking that signing Colin Kapernick and winning with him as the QB would be awesomest, but I'm open to other suggestions. Poll...

I'm still watching Super Bowl 51 at least once a week. How often do other people watch it?

Is this the most interesting thread on the Planet?

Awfully boring threads on Patriots Planet this week. I take full responsibility. Is this Edelman's last season? Do you like Tom Brady? What do you think of the AFC East? How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? Have I had enough to drink? Poll coming.

Could the Bills ever be as successful as the Patriots?

Due to popular demand, posting this question as a separate thread. Certainly it's possible that the Bills might draft a great QB and even higher a great coach, pretty much at the same time, but if they did, would they stay in Buffalo or would they leave for a better place to live and work? Do...
