Gibson is the only FA to sign longer. Then a 1 year deal . Might as well use the remaining Cap space. To work out extension to Barmore, Judon & Stevenson.

I hear you, but the silver lining is that Mayo saw that they weren't ready and instead of faking it until they made it, he did the right thing and delayed it until he thought they were ready. Most new coaches would've saved face by not admitting that they were unprepared, causing more damage by not postponing.
