There were a number of draft weekend threads about Jones. I only looked in the first one.

Didn't take long to find a slew of posts. At lot of posts I copied didn't didn't get pasted to this sheet for some reason. I had a couple where you wish we'd kept Brissett and not drafted Jones. And I seem to have lost the posts about 2 WRs drafted in the top 10 that made Jones look better than he is. you can find them in the thread linked above, though. Didn't copy all applicable posts as you started repeating yourself. And I just grabbed a lot by you so some might not apply. These are all cut and paste btw, all your words:
J
ones is not a QB that can create on his own and make plays happen. In other words, he is not going to elevate those around him. They will have to elevate him.
I am down on Jones compared to the other 4 not because he is not a dual threat (which I already said) but because he cannot create on his own. He is not dynamic at all the way the other 4 QBs are and his arm is average at best. I worry about this now more so than 2000 because the league has changed dramatically in terms of the offense. The league is much more predicated on the play of the QB and his ability to create and elevate those around him combined with passing rules that favor the passing game at an unprecedented level.
ith that as the back drop, I am happy we got a Qb and that we didn't have to trade up. I do like a lot of Jones traits of being smart and a leader but he is not the type of Qb you want in today's league. He can't move, has no escapabiliy. He played on a stacked team.
I had Jones as the 5th Qb of the 5. He is the one I wanted the least.
I think when you look at the landscape of today's NFL offenses and not just the QB position by itself, you see dynamic offenses because the college game has pulled through and the rules allow the pass game to be so criminally easy.
I truly hope Mac is the best of the lot but the odds are pretty stacked against him. We really don't know yet if he can mentally handle the NFL game. Playing for Bama on a stacked team does not make him mentally superior to the other Qbs especially Lawrence who is the most NFL ready QB since Andrew Luck.
I am not sure why you keep mentioning Lamar. None of the QBs taken this year is Lamar. He is in a class by himself much the way Vick and Newton were when they first entered the league. QBs like Rodgers, Mahomes and Allen are what you want for today's game ideally. It does not mean you can't win with a different style but they give you everything you need in today's game to be successful - their football IQ and decision making are great, they can extend plays, run for first downs and make every throw in the book and then some.
I am very interested to see how Mac develops his arm. That is probably the weakest part of his game especially compared to the QBs taken ahead of him.
He also needs to develop his body and drop the flab and put on muscle so he can withstand the punishment given he is a smallish type QB. (good call here )
I am not sure I agree with Cosell that the pure drop back passer, ala Brady, Eli, Peyton, Brees, will have a future in today's game. There is a reason why Mac dropped to #15 and went last of all the QBs ahead of him. It is precisely because he cannot extend plays/improv like the other QBs. So there has been a sea shift change in what GMs want and that is because the offenses have changed so much over the past 5-8 years IMO
I've only had you off ignore for a few hours and I already wasted a ton of time rehashing old bullshit posts. The joke's on me I guess, but ignore is back on you
