Game: Name a Band's Best Song

Considering the style of music Def Leppard does, I SHOULD like them, but I don't.

I usually change the station when their music comes on. I really don't know why I dislike them so much, I just do.

Amen to this. I just don't like them, period. Pour Some Sugar On Me is like fingernails on a freaking blackboard to me.

Elton John - Personal favorite of mine in "Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)"

Billy Joel - The Longest Time. He had a voice made for doo-wop.

Queen - This is where it gets difficult for me. There's not a bad choice from their catalog. But if I had to make a pick, it has to be Bohemian Rhapsody. Freddy just nailed those vocals, its a fun record to sing along with, it has its moments of being just a tad cheeky, and it's their signature song.

Zeppelin - Over The Hills And Far Away. Outstanding work by Jimmy on both the acoustic and electric guitars, Plant hits all the right notes, Jones and Bonham don't get lost in the shuffle.

Elvis Costello Red Shoes/Alison

Joan Jett Little Liar

James Taylor Close Your Eyes

Joni Mitchell A Case of You

My obscure artist of the day ... taking another sabbatical from the Planet, darned alien Space Bums anyway.

U2 = One (I know a lot of people will immediately choose something off of The Joshua Tree, but "One" is simply a materpiece.)

REM = Losing My Religion (Again, I'm picking a signature song here, but the song is epic - there is a reason why it was so huge - it was simply that good)

My addition - The Steve Miller Band

Best Song - The Joker

...yet again I find myself unable not to choose the signature song. I personally love "Livin' in the USA" and "Space Cowboy" as well as a lot of SMB's early psychadelic stuff, but while they may be personal faves, for me nothing can encapsulate SMB in one song the way The Joker does. Great tune.

I love 'The Joker'...it's one of those songs everybody loves to sing along to, like 'Paradise By the Dashboard Light', 'Bobby McGee', 'Bohemian Rhapsody', and 'American Pie'. Good times. :dbanana:

I actually think it's the worst of all their hits.

"Out of Control" is my favorite early U2 song, "End of the World" may be my overall favorite though.

ahem....Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me...

Seriously though, I'm surprised here. One is a great tune - even deserved the three videos they made for it, lol.

What? No Patriot fan has "Beautiful Day" as their favorite U2 song? Wow.....color me shocked!

It is mine and I still get giddy as a mofo when I hear it.

Beautiful Day is one of the weaker U2 songs. I still think that "One" (which single-handedly saved the band's career) and "Where the Streets Have No Name" are classics.

Dave Matthews Band - Two Step.

I agree, that is a great tune.

Bob Seger - Night Moves
Jim Carroll Band - Wicked Gravity
Jonathan Richman - Ice Cream Man
No Doubt - Just A Girl
Ramones - I Wanna Be Sedated
