OT: Brag about your Kids thread

Our son landed himself a date to the Junior prom last night. Apparently the term is "promposal". Anyway, he showed up for the warmups of the girl's basketball game and passed the girl a ball with a message written on it asking her to go to prom. I joked with him before that he still didn't have his good hand so he better be careful that he passes the ball to the right girl. He was right on target and she said yes. We have seen some positive changes out of him since the accident and this was one of them. If you would have asked him about prom three months ago he would have told you that there's no way he's going. Now he seems to be excited for it although his taste in clothes that he wants to wear to the event might be just a bit out of line with our pocketbooks. :ROFLMAO:
I probably swear to much on this board and for that, I am sorry. But in this case I am not because this is fucking AWESOME.

Believe it or not, I was really shy in HS but I did land the prettiest girl (in my opinion) for senior prom. she just turned 64 or 3 on feb 13th. we still keep in contact)

Then I went on going to 2 more proms. They asked me.

He couldn't write like that with a good right hand. 🤣 He has a good friend that is a pretty talented artist and he talked her into writing it for him.

Like I said my daughter could write anything pretty lol. She was a different soul then I and she learned the hard way how different we were when she became a foster parent..... Love her to death and appreciate everything she tired to do ..... she had no idea what fostering was like. I wish you luck my friend your children will always surprise you...... in both ways lol. I’m glad your family is adjusting for real during a very difficult time you and your wife are pretty fucking amazing just saying for real, I wish more children had parents like you. It would make my job so much easier. Kudos for real

Last night was our son's Junior prom. I joked that he's a bit of a bridezilla. He finally got out of bed 30 minutes before it was time for pictures and what a 30 minutes of chaos that was. He really tries to not have a good time most of the time but last night he couldn't help himself. We worked after prom until about 4:00 this morning and somehow I'm already awake and going through pictures. Turns out we didn't have many pictures of just him.

Now the daughter. We call her "she must be obeyed" (stolen from Rick Reilly)........She is the cats ass. She is smart and beautiful and knows it. She is all girl thru and thru. Dolls rule. Older brothers shake in fear when gets mad and they almost always rue getting into fistacuffs with her. She gives the best butterfly kisses and that damm song nearly kills me everytime I hear it.

I wrote the above post back 2007. Lilly was 5.

I swear I didn’t blink one time, but how did the 87k pictures of the last 20+ years get into the Photos application?😳

Now here we are this afternoon.

With her housemates for the last 2+ years.

Lilly will walk on May 7th with honors with a degree in human biology from the Lyman Briggs College (MSU stem) at Michigan State University. She is taking a gap year to chill (she and I call her “Mini-me”) and to travel. Her study abroad plans were negated by Covid. She doesn’t know it yet but she and I are going to Germany, France, England and Ireland in July. Graduation present.

Dental school is next. It pains me to say that the University of Michigan is her second choice. First is University of Kentucky due to its continuing education post dental school in orthodontics. Third is Boston University. After that it’s pretty much a mishmash of dental schools across the country. Michigan is second because for in-state students tuition is sub $50,000 a year. Where as every place else is $85,000-$110,10,000 per year. 😳😳😳

I am so very proud of Lilly!IMG_8802.jpegView attachment 16312

Speaking of time flying by.....

My oldest turned 40 last week. I felt the sudden urge to yell at the birds in my yard to get off my lawn.

My baby girl, 38, will be marrying her soulmate in September. He's a fellow historian from County Cork, Ireland. He's an amazing man who adores my daughter, a dad can't ask for much more.

They are both the crown jewels of my life, I couldn't be more proud of them.

My Great grand daugheter Saniya is 16 months old and just made her first international trip to Aruba Saturday.

My 12 Year old grandson is being recruited by high schools to play football. He's 6'3" 260 lbs and plays center.

Can't brag about my kids. The oldest is 48 and the youngest is 40. All college graduates but still call dad with problems.

Time flys when you’re having fun .... I look back and think where did the time go, but the new memories and grandkiddos keep me grounded.

I can’t and can wait for grandkids. But I imagine them.
They are the best just saying ....you can spoil them rotten and send them home lol....if I knew how cool grandkids were I’d would of had them first .... I’m hoping to be around for great grandkids Im not seeing it but it would be cool.
