OT: Brag about your Kids thread

not your typical brag story but WTF?

yesterday I was towing the camper home and rear hub caught on fire on highway. As I pull into the breakdown lane I told my boy to grab keys, get the fire extinguisher out, and I'll be at the tire looking. Kid calmly jumped out, jumped up into the camper, grabbed it, and ran over spraying the fire out, calm as could be. He answered that parent question of how will my kid react when under extreme pressure - he passed well beyond anything I could hope for.

I'm glad. If you ever set yourself on fire ... .

Kind of a bittersweet week in our household. It's Senior Week for our oldest son. He has two football games left in his career. I had to post this picture of him because it's hilarious to look back at him in his junior football days compared to now. Exact same stance. ROFL Tomorrow night is going to be hard but I have a feeling that it will be nothing compared to when he graduates. There's nothing but bright things in this kid's future though. Still carrying a 4.0 for his high school career. He was named as a Kansas Honor Scholar and is currently looking at some pretty awesome Midwest schools.

Some meanies might say there's an oxymoron in there somewhere. :coffee:

And congrats, and all the best to your boy and enjoy the pride. You've earned it.

Cheers

I miss sitting in the rain, snow and sunny days watching the kids play sports. Enjoy every moment of the game.

Well I wasn't expecting another reason to brag this soon but yesterday we got some mail. KU is offering him a huge scholarship that will pay nearly all of his tuition. Guess the other schools better step up their game. ROFL

I wonder if there are enough students opting for trade or techical schoold to make a potential Excellent student more valuable to the committees putting together the packages offered?

Congrats Again, Alk & son!

Cheers, :toast:

Congrats, nothing is more gratifying to a parent than to see their kids succeed. It's a job well done.
